Gastronomic notes of a foodie
When my best friend made an executive decision to leave DC area where he grew up and spent most of his adequate life and move to Paris for good, all his friends, including myself, were making bets on the number of months or years (best case scenarios) that would take him to return to the US. Well, he never did...more so, my life has been enriched with several trips a year to explore France, its culture, and eat my way through various regions of the gastronomic cradle of the world.

Discovering the Magic of Abruzzo
In the heart of Italy, snuggled between the majestic mountain ranges of the Apennines and washed by the azure Adriatic Sea lies Abruzzo, one of the most authentic and green regions not only in all of Italy, but in the whole of Europe. Painted with swaths of stunning natural landscapes, uncontaminated vistas, and thrilling wildlife, Nature has created some of its best masterpieces here. From the rolling hills to the high plains overlooking verdant valleys, olive groves that harmoniously blend with vineyards, orchards, and colorful flowerings create a picturesque backdrop for the authentic, rural slow-paced life. Besides being a journey through one of the most pristine natural areas of Italy, the land of Abruzzo is also a journey to an enchanting world of strong warriors and saints. Each period has left a timeless and indelible mark. The medieval villages perched on peaks preserve the folklore, while impressive castles and remote hermitages set in the rocky mountainside have all survived through long centuries, existing in perfect synergy with the idyllic landscape.

What to Eat in Mystic, Connecticut
I can’t believe that in eight years of asking people where I could go to the beach from DC by train, nobody’s ever suggested Mystic. Still, that’s remedied now, and I had a great time. The train journey itself was great – I love long train journeys, seven hours in this case – and it feels safe and relaxing in this 2020 year, with only every other seat booked and masks worn throughout (expect for eating and drinking).

How to Find Restaurants in Singapore
If you are a foodie and you are in Singapore for a visit, you are in luck. The city happens to be as diverse with its food as it is with its culture and technology giving you a well-rounded experience into the city-state and experiencing it. The thing about finding the best restaurants in Singapore is that while it can be a luxury 5-star restaurant with Michelin stars it could also be a small hole-in-the-wall. You are better off going by cuisine instead.

Food Culture in Houston Texas
One of the cities with the greatest restaurant scenes of all time is Houston. In 1998, the USA Today newspaper referred to Houston TX as “the dining-out capital of the US” because it’s residents eat at restaurants more often than locals in any other city in America. Houston also prides itself on having one of the lowest dining out prices amongst other major US cities restaurants.

What Mrs Ehlwe cooked
I doubt if you'll ever meet the modest woman with sparkling eyes who cooked this meal for me. For sure, this is not a recipe you'd find in any cookbook, even an Egyptian one. She conjured the meal up seemingly in minutes and out of nowhere for a surprise guest who had audaciously invited himself to lunch

The Italian Food I've Been Craving Since I Left Italy
Italian food. Everyone loves it. It’s a classic dinner party go-to and for good reason. I mean, who can turn down a hot bowl of mostaccioli with cheese melting on top? It’s a crowd pleaser and a safe bet for whoever spends the money on the catering service.

My Favorite Treats in Boston
A few years ago I worked in Boston, so I was super close to the city and I found myself exploring a decent amount of the time. One of my favorite things to do was find new spots to eat at, whether they be sit-down restaurants or just places to grab a quick bite to-go. I definitely still have a lot more adventuring to do throughout the city, but through my prior explorations, I've found some of my favorite foods that I want to share! If you ever find yourself in Boston, be sure to check out some of these spots for some awesome treats and meals.

How to Eat Like a Local in Sri Lanka
Sri Lankan cuisine is nothing like you would expect it to be if you've never eaten it before. Most people assume that Sri Lankan food is a lot similar in taste to Indian food, and while there are many similarities, Sri Lankan food is made up of different varieties across the major cities of the small island nation. Sri Lankan food is heavily influenced by Sinhalese, Tamil and Muslim culture as well as British, Portuguese and Dutch colonial influences among others.
