Sometimes, it's too hard to actually squeeze in time to run to the grocery story and do all the planning. What Do Cocoa Percentages Tell Us?
As a chocolatier and chocolate expert I get asked a lot about working with chocolate, especially chocolate with a high cocoa percentage. Once upon a time chocolate bars didn’t mention the percentage, but now most chocolate bar labels, recipes and even many restaurant menus proudly declare the amount of cocoa present, be it 55% milk chocolate, 70%, 85%, or more. What does all of this mean, and how does the amount of cocoa used vary between white milk, dark chocolate, and all of those other types?

Unfortunately in the growing world of superfruits and dietary supplements, the health benefits of bone broth have become lost in the mix. Bone broth is a nutritional staple in many cultures that has been used medicinally for centuries. It is very similar to stock and to broth. Broth is made by simmering meat for about an hour, and creates a very thin, protein filled liquid. Stock is created by cooking roasted bones for about 3 or 4 hours. Bone broth however, is produced by simmering bones for 24-48 hours with the intention of releasing trace amounts of minerals stored deep within the bones.

“One must ask children and birds how cherries and berries taste” Strawberries are very flexible and can be used in any dessert because of their taste, texture and most importantly their colour, which is one on the most attractive amongst all the available fruits. Here is my first recipe of a smoothie using strawberries this winter. It's a simple combo of strawberry, mint and yogurt with a dash of flax seed to give it a crunch and increase the protein content, thus making it a healthy drink. Best part about this dish is that it requires ingredients that are readily available in the market and require minimum time for preparation. A perfect combo of flavour along with this perks is something which you wouldn’t like to miss. So without wasting more time I will take you through the simple steps closer to the heaven.

An anti-inflammatory diet is crucial for your long-term health. Now first and foremost, inflammation can be a good thing. What? That’s right. Inflammation is a good thing. At first. When you stub your toe, the inflammation you feel is your white blood cells gathering together and fighting off damaged tissue. If you have a nasty cough and your chest feels inflamed, it’s because your white blood cells are kicking out the viruses.
