Want Wonderful Italian Food, With Spectacular Service?
I'm somewhat particular about restaurants. There are a lot of "okay" restaurants out there, but there are very few really memorable ones. Every once in a while you find a local gem. And for me, one specific place comes to mind.

The Marmalade
Most of the second year of my undergraduate degree and on and off throughout my third year were spent eating some of the best sweet potato fries in a place called the "Marmalade". A jazz bar with neon lighting, wooden chairs and tables, great cocktails and a dim, cosy atmosphere was possibly one of the best ways to spend my time when I was out with a few friends or working on a paper, dressed in jeans and a backpack - I never felt out of place.

As Big as Your Head
I can't remember the first time I came here, but it became a staple when I was 16 or 17. I had two friends that were reading Harry Potter the same time as me, we were a little late to the craze, but at least we read them before the movies came out! Anyway, we would go to McCoy's late at night and read out loud to each other. That's how I read the first two books. In a horseshoe booth at a 24 hour diner right off the freeway.
