- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup ghee
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves
- Heat ghee in a large pot. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and fry until golden brown.
- Add garlic and ginger paste and fry for a minute.
- Add mutton cubes and fry until they are lightly browned.
- Add all the dry spices, yogurt, and salt and mix well.
- Add 1/2 cup of water and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add the soaked basmati rice and mix well.
- Add melted butter, lemon juice, fresh mint leaves, and coriander leaves.
- Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
Serve hot with raita or your favorite chutney. Enjoy!
