The Songs in my Mind
We have all had a moment where we are listening to a song and we have had to really stop and listen because the lyrics begin to seemingly speak directly to us. Maybe the lyrics in a song relate exactly to what we are going through or simply make us feel the most like ourselves. Below are a few beautiful lyrics from songs that I have heard recently that simply make me feel like me.

How I became a classical pianist
As a kid I’ve always been fascinated by music, I remember waiting without patience the marching band in the main square of my home town in Italy, literally every Sunday! And how could I forget my 6 years old self listening to pop music with his cassette player from the 90’s? They main plot twist happened in those years, where my parents asked me if I wanted to play any instrument and, I really don’t know why, I answered “DRUMS!”; and my journey started right there.

Music is my food of love
What keeps me going through the trials and tribulations of my turbulent life? My fiancé primarily but after that its always music. While writing this there is loud heavy metal in my ears, when i did my nvq qualification the same and pretty much anytime I need a break from the world. The music is rarely calm or relaxing but it always helps me. In fact my streaming service has taken note of what i listen to and has created a playlist it self . It rotates the bands I choose to stream and is playing random tracks.

90 Day Musician
I'm Polly, 19 years old and graduate of the Saint Mary's Hall Class of 2020. Unlike the rest of my classmates, I'm the only one who decided to take a gap year, a lapse of time that will either help me figure out what I want to do with my life, or perhaps, discover that I've always known what I wanted.

Got keep your head up
2020 has been the toughest year of my life. Not only because I am a student and have a sick mother and almost lost my sister because of COVID is this pandemic. I hurt to see so much pain going on in the world. The only thing that has kept me sane is this song by Andy Grammer “Keep your head up.” This song symbolizes so much to me in times of my life like this year that I thought I couldn't, this song showed me and taught me that many obstacles can happen, you just cannot give up. Many people lost their life or a loved one due to this virus and it is an unfortunate event. The scariest part is that the virus does not have a vaccination.
