Smash Roasted Potatoes for College
-- The Story -- I was going to college for the first time in the year 2014 and it would be my first time living away from home, which is a pretty nerve-wracking time for anyone. For me, it was both exciting but also something that would shake my nerves a bit. Fortunately, I had my family to move me in and to believe in me. On top of that, a relative and grand uncle of mine who was old enough to have served in World War II made me some delicious food for college: some delicious mashed roasted potatoes!

Elect-swing funk
Music has changed so much and proven that things do seem to come full circle when it comes to change and trends with young people. People have looked back on the past, the modern day, and technology to try to create a form of new music merged from various eras.

The OSI Model of Data Transmission in Cybersecurity and The First Two Layers
Data transmission is the physical transfer of data over a communication channel. A network model describes the layers of communication between devices, PCs, and items on a network delivering data. To keep everything on the same page when it comes to moving data, a model called the OSI model, or Open Systems Interconnection model if you ever want to use the full name, was made with seven layers to explain everything in data transmission. Here, I am going to be using this particular story to go over two of those layers and teach you all about this basic model for cybersecurity.

Getting Stock from Vocal Media (for a T-Shirt)!
Vocal.media is a writing platform that I have been writing with for a while now and it was interesting to read about how this site was now offering the option to purchase stock from them as a long-term investment so you can potentially earn some positive income from this particular organization. Now, I have an interesting story about how I have given almost five hundred U.S. Dollars to Vocal. Inc in something that will - hopefully - provide me with some decent future income thanks to the stock options and some say in the future of this writing platform, but for a very short-sighted reason. Hopefully, it pays off, otherwise, I will have spent half a grand with nothing to really show for it but a t-shirt and a lack of impulse control when it comes to clothing!

Paranoid Schizophrenia, Lack of Empathy, and Feudalism/Authoritarianism
Previously, I talked about a bunch of different mental illnesses associated with a lack of empathy, but I didn't mention all of them. One of them that I forgot to talk about was specific forms of schizophrenia. It has been found that certain forms of schizophrenia, like the kind that was once diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenia, have led to severe impairments in the emotional empathy of people with the condition. The good thing is that schizophrenia has different ways to be treated and in modern times, untreated schizophrenia only affects about 0.32% of the population according to the World Health Organization - meaning that enough people get to be treated for this condition that untreated versions of this mental disorder affect a very small chunk of the population, much smaller than the other conditions that were previously mentioned.

Yes, people without empathy exist. Stop pretending they don't!
People love to ask 'Without empathy, how do we exist' and pretend that if someone doesn't act nice, they would just go extinct & no longer be around. Some people treat this as sound logic but to me, studying a bit of basic bit of psychology makes this laughable at best and immature ignorance at worst.

'Appalachia: A History of Mountains and People' Review
'Good documentary about the cultures of the Appalachian mountain, history, and nature that can be found in the mountains. This story is written in a way that talks about the problems people in the mountain region experienced without being stereotypical. Deserves 9 stars out of 10. Would recommend to others!'
