The Privacy Aspects of Cybersecurity: CIA
Three aspects - CIA
There are three important aspects that you see in the field of cybersecurity. The three aspects make up the core of cybersecurity and information security features and we need to focus on those before we describe cybersecurity in any deeper manner.
The first of these three aspects is confidentiality. Confidentiality is basically the assurance that information is not disclosed to unauthorized people, processes, or devices. This covers data in storage, data moving on process, and in transit.
Meanwhile, the second of these aspects important to cybersecurity is integrity. Integrity is the protection of data & systems are protected from unintentional, unauthorized, or accidental changes. This particular part of the information security trinity includes both data and the computer systems themselves. Data integrity is the idea that data is complete, consistent, and accurate; meanwhile, system integrity is the idea that the system will work as intended.
Finally, you have availability: the idea of information, systems, and supporting infrastructure operating and being accessible when needed. These three aspects of cybersecurity form CIA - the cybersecurity triad!
