Irrational Fear
He was agitated. His foot tapping furiously on the floor. Sweat beads racing down his face as he looked up nervously at the giant clock in front of him. Quarter to two. His time is almost up, if he doesn’t think of something now it’ll be too late!

The End
As the missile was coming down, Mike stood there watching. His arms flailed by his side and the weapon dropped to the ground. He thought about what got him here; Elena encouraging him to go and save the world. Where is she now? Buried, along with the rest of Britannica’s citizens.

Who Are You?
Who are you? Not your name, but who is the real you? What makes you...you? I’m sure all of us have heard of a doppelganger; This is someone who looks very much like you. But is there someone out there who is exactly like you in like looks, personality and habits? It is curious how everyone in the world is truly unique in one way or another. It is a perplexing fact, taking into account the number of people on planet earth. Yet again, no two snowflakes are ever the same and we know how much snow falls every year; in every country, in every city, in every street.

Let's have a conversationTop Story - May 2023
Did you ever have a moment where you are sitting opposite someone and having a conversation and then realised… “what the hell are they talking about?”. I’ve had this happen many times, where it feels like a conversation is continuing simply to continue. There was no purpose for the conversation, it was just a complete waste of time. This is one of the very first things I published here on vocal, and it is a piece simply talking about my frustrations with small talk. I edited and rewritten some parts (because my English wasn't very good at the time… not that it’s much better now) but generally the message is still the same.

How My Love For Writing Began
I’m not a native English speaker. I learned the very basics of English when I was younger but only started properly learning it after coming to the UK. I was thirteen at the time so not a bad age to start learning a new language (which is now basically my main language). The first apartment we (my family and I) lived in was quite small but nice nonetheless; it was in an area where the government basically stashed immigrants while their cases were processed, so we were surrounded by many people from all walks of life. This environment was very comforting to have in a strange new city.

The illegal passenger
My home is marvellous. Everyday there would be an abundance of new food that I had never tasted before. New smells that tingled my senses and made me shiver in joy. A small place where I wasn’t bothered nor harassed. Best of all, those pesky oppressors that are bountiful everywhere you go are but a mere a few here. It was truly heaven.
