Avalon Sister
My Muse is magical to me, we talk and chat on many subjects and after we talk about literally anything , it could be about washing up , wildlife , music or a favourite play , I am refuelled and ready to write again. How does this happen? She spreads her magic on me , that is all I can say.

How To Get Noticed On Vocal
On an almost daily basis I get asked how can someone improve their performance and get more reads on their Vocal posts. I do not promote myself much on Social media and my work is seldom shared. I also receive a lot of unconstructive criticism telling me my work is rubbish , full of spelling and grammatical mistakes and I should remove my stories and am not welcome in the groups.

The Day Facebook Died
Yesterday Facebook died. Now in itself this should not have been a problem , let alone a major problem , but ….. Facebook has acquired Instagram and WhatsApp and other platforms that I am unaware of , and all these applications run on a centralised platform and when that goes down everything goes down.

The Water Hole (A Conclusion)
This was requested by Jason Basaraba , a conclusion to The Water Hole , my entry into the Vocal Foggy Waters Challenge. I really hope this lives up to expectations , but we will see. I have taken a few terms from the Philip Pullman “His Dark Materials” books which will fit in with the general story.

The Real Macaw
This is a story for the Scarlet Macaw Challenge on Vocal. Macaws are found particularly in southern Belize, where they thrive due to the conservation and protection policies Belize has in place. As one of the most beautiful birds in Belize, now macaws are a source of wonder for the tourist. Having been victims of human greed, taken and sold as pets, they are now endangered. This post is to highlight that and to hopefully have a tiny bit of an effect in maintaining the protection areas for Macaws in Belize

SUA
Recently I had a friend request from my mate Harry Clark in Preston on Facebook. He is just getting that hang of things and eventually I got my phone number to him and yesterday we spoke for the first time , and spent forty five minutes chatting about a lot of things. I had mentioned him in a previous post “S’cooldays” which you can see here.

The Water Hole
This is a horror story for the Vocal Foggy Waters challenge . I do not usually write fiction , but the challenges force me out of my comfort zone, and hopefully that makes me a better writer. The lead in music will be “Drowning” by the Beat. This story is influenced by the style of Franz Kafka where a person does not know why he is where he is.

Life Has Surface Noise
There have been a lot of not great things happening recently that I have been linked to in a remote fashion that have been traumatic for others. We want our life to be perfect , I certainly want mine to be perfect, but when someone or something you love is taken from you it is an almost impossible situation to deal with. All of a sudden the connection is broken and can’t be fixed.

Goodbye To All My Vocal Friends
Sorry for the clickbait heading , but thought it may catch someone’s eye. No I am not leaving you but I have a nasty demon that tells me when people don’t talk with me , the reason is that they find me boring , obnoxious, or just don’t even notice me. It tells me to leave the groups and completely remove myself from you , unfriend my closest and most loving and supportive contacts and effectively lead myself in limbo.

A Graveyard Smash
A Graveyard Smash , is taken from Bobby “Boris” Pickett and the Crypt Kickers 1962 Hit “Monster Mash” , more Abbott and Costello than Bela Lugosi. So here is mine, I hope there will be nothing too obvious in here , so this is unlikely to be a winner as no Halloween DJ will have heard of any of these artists (well maybe) , but the records , I am not sure.

Didn't Feel Lonely Til I Thought Of You
A poem based on the title of a favourite Kevin Ayers song "Didn't Feel Lonely Til I Thought Of You" , which I have included as the lead in music. You can have lots of contact and support and friendship, but you will always miss that special someone or something more than ever
