The Value of EducationTop Story - May 2018
I like to brag. Now, before you get the wrong idea, let me clarify my statement. When people brag, they like to laud their achievements and/or abilities over others. That is not what I do. I do brag to myself. I think of a separate me who has not done what the actual me has done. Then, I ended up telling myself that I feel good for what I did.

The Joker's Best Friends Are Truly His Best Friends
I am an old man. I said that because when I go back through the pages of my life, I constantly think of the most famous Jimmy Stewart movie of all time-—It's a Wonderful Life. I really think about the very last scene after George Bailey was shown by Clarence the angel as to what life would have been like if George was never born. George comes to accept that life without the people who were important to him was horrible as opposed to his life with them. In other words, he was able to see how much better his and their lives were with George around.

The Marriage ContractTop Story - May 2018
I am an old guy. I have been around the block more times than I can remember. Even still, I thought about sitting at a table one night to compose my bucket list. Take part in an Olympic sport. Get my doctorate degree. Meet a Pope. You guessed it. I would put on it all the things I once fantasized about; things that seemed too far-fetched to accomplish. There is only one thing that will never reside on my bucket list—marriage. I'd have a much better time if I had put down "Walking on Mars on my list. I'd have a much better chance of reaching those goals.

My Favorite Students of All Time!
I have been a teacher/writer for 40 years come this June 2018. Actually, I have been a writer since I was an 8th grader, but that only enhanced my experiences. Here in New York, I have taught in Catholic schools, public schools and a charter school for a short amount of time. I taught mostly 6 to 8 grades. I also taught Kindergarten for (thankfully) one day and I taught high school for about a combined total of four years. In public school, I have worked as a Dean of Discipline and as an Assistant Principal. That is a lot of experience. So, as you can clearly see, I have a lot of educational experience and I am clearly able to write about it.

Parked in My Car on a Sunny Sunday Morning
When I was in college, I studied English which, obviously, included the study of prose and poetry. To be very honest, I was not a huge fan of poetry. That is not to say that I hated it. I meant that I favor the prose more than poetry. There are a few poems that I do like. One of them is the following poem by Robert Frost.

The Trumpet Man!
I was born in the year of 1956. It was a great year. Many great people I know were born that year. My closest friends were born that year. As Frank Sinatra once sang, “It was a very good year.” Even though I was born in 1956, I was actually reborn in September of 1970. That was the year I started high school.
