Reach for the Sky!!!!
Well, another school year for you has come to a close. You’re probably sitting here and wondering what tomorrow is going to bring you. A while ago, a very wise gentleman brought up the name Satchel Paige. Paige was probably the greatest pitcher in all of baseball, but he was never really given a chance to play in the Major Leagues. He was one of the biggest stars in the Negro League. Had he played in the Major Leagues, he might have set records that would never have been broken again. As a batter, he probably would have hit twice the number of home runs than Barry Bonds could have done. And even though he never did get that chance to show his skills in the Majors, he is still acknowledged as the greatest of all time. His experiences caused him to take a philosophical look at his life. He was once asked why he did not look back at his accomplishments. He said that the moment you stop to look back is when you will discover that someone is gaining on you. How true. How many times have you been in a race, looked back and found yourself losing that race due to the fact that your opponent passed you?

My Name Is Jack Raydor!!!!!
I KNOW JACK! I am familiar with Jack because I WAS Jack Raydor (from the TV crime show Major Crimes)…in high school. I never drank or smoked. I still don't. But I took a relationship for granted. She found another guy. I tried to win her back, but it was to no avail. We never saw each other again. Coincidently, there was another lady who entered my life. It was like God was saying, "Maurice, here is someone that you should meet and marry." I stupidly ignored that message. She DID have an effect on me.

The Fastest Man Alive (on Two Wheels)!!!!
I have a secret to share with my reading public. I have a secret identity. Up until now, I have shared it with a few people—family, a few friends, and neighbors. I always had a need for speed and my one passion has ALWAYS involved the bicycle. Not a motorcycle, just the human-propelled bicycle.

Help!!
I need help (as if some of my friends already know). I am broke (and out of money, too, but that is another story for another day). I need to be fixed (No! Not “fixed” as in what happens to a dog). Oh nevermind. Let me just go on to explain my situation.

Mr. Worthy Hudson: Eulogy for a Master Teacher
The name Frank Capra may not be familiar to you, but he is well known. If you have seen the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life,” then you are very familiar with him. The movie is about a man named George Bailey whose life was going very poorly. His life in 1946 looked almost like our life does in 2009. He requested after a while that he be unborn. His guardian angel reluctantly shows George what life would have been like if he wasn’t born. As the movie progresses and much agony, George strongly prayed to return to the life that he took for granted.

Eulogy: A Tribute to My Mom
Sunrise: February 6, 1930 Sunset: January 10, 2015 Eulogized: January 20, 2015 With the way God structured life, you get to meet your very first friend, your BFF-Best Friend Forever. She carried you for nine months, endured the pain to bring you into the world and stays by you until the very end. She puts up with all you do and don’t do. And despite everything, she is still there with you. When everyone else has abandoned you, she is always there with you and for you. She is your confidant. She will listen to you even if no one else will. She is always on your side when the rest of the world seems to be against you. She is your best friend until the very end and then some. She will show the smile and she will hide the pain no matter how great the burden may be. When you feel alone, she pats you on the back and gives you a big hug as well. When you have nowhere to turn, she is always there for you. She treasures you. You are her highest priority. When you want to be grounded, she is your foundation, but when you want to take off and fly, she is the wind beneath your wings. No matter where you go and how far you are physically away from her, she is always with you. Although she has given birth to you, you are always a part of her and still connected to her. It is a bond that can never, ever be destroyed. Yes, that is a Mom. That is the perfect description of my Mom-Olive Bernier.

The Visitor
It was a long, hard weekend. I was just plain tired. First, it was teaching the children in the morning. Then, it was the things that my buddies and I had gone through with the dead. Why can't the dead stay dead? In any case, I am looking forward to a good night's well-deserved rest.

The Casket
It was a long day. Joe had worked many hours at his new job, not because he wanted to, but because he had to do so. He was a newlywed. His wife Susan, previously a widow, had a child with another on the way. He loved her so much. He had only known her a few weeks after her husband, Peter, died. They went out for lunch from time to time. It was during these lunch dates that they discovered a true affection for each other. After a period of mourning, they decided to see each other. They had only married a few weeks ago, exactly less than a year since Pete's death. Joe had worked as much overtime that he could possibly work. He hadn't had a day off in a few weeks. Already, he had seen one of the guys from his job drop dead due to fatigue. He couldn't afford to put Susan in danger of being a widow once again. He had to take it easy but now wasn't the time. He needed the money and he needed it now.

The Plan
It has been nearly a month since the guys and Irene had gone after a plethora of vampires. Much has happened since then. Jimmy and Irene exchanged their wedding vows. Mark decided to drop out of law school and pursue a career with the city's transit system. George and Marcel decided to share the cost of a new van. Together, they agreed that this new vehicle would be fully stocked with what they considered to be the best weaponry in their war against the supernatural. The gang got together one Saturday night to discuss what would eventually become a plan-book against any future attacks. Their last few battles nearly cost them their lives. They couldn't afford to take those risks again. Their foursome was now a fivesome. Irene demanded to be an active part of the team. Now, despite Jimmy's protests, she would be apart of their adventures. The meeting took exactly two hours. They argued and argued over how they would handle things in the event of the next war. After the meeting at George's house, they sat back and devoured pizza and soda courtesy of the remainder of Mark's former tuition money for law school. Next week, he would be working alongside George on the subway system. For now, it was time to party and enjoy each other's company.

The Final Battle
They got into George's car. They must destroy all vampires everywhere. If no one else was going to believe them, they should just get this fight over with. This was the roughest weekend they ever had. They have to hope that all of them were in one central location and destroy them all. Jimmy reached for Mark's phone. He had to call his friend, the crop duster. He hatched a backup plan.
