What do you do when your dad dies?
This morning I woke up to a message from my brother asking me to call him and not to contact mum first. I knew something was wrong but I figured maybe they had one of their fights as sometimes they do or maybe something happened to grandma. What I could never expect was my brother saying that my dad wasn’t with us anymore.

Fostering Saves Lives
Take it from a person who currently has got two medium sized dogs and a cat in her studio apartment... having pets is a huge responsibility. It's hard work, sometimes it gets expensive and super stressful. It's the best thing that has ever happened to me but it has also cost me great sacrifices. But all that doesn't matter at all because when I look at my 3 perfect fur babies, the only feeling I have is overflowing unconditional love.

Green Card Marriage
It's been almost 12 months since I started my Green Card process. Well, actually it's been way longer than that but officially, after collecting all the documents for about 5 months, my husband and I applied in May last year. There are so many appalling things regarding this whole process that it's really hard to know where to start. So let's begin with the fact that you read it right, it was my husband and I applying, not just me. While my husband is American, born and raised in Virginia, I am an immigrant. Once we got married a bit over a year ago I had to apply for a Green Card in order to live with him in the same country. As you might think, how could anyone refuse me living with my husband? Well, the USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) most certainly can. Not only that but for me to stay in the same country as my loved one, he needs to become my 'sponsor' and prove that he can 'afford' me living here.

The Timeline of my Womanhood
The first time I was accused of not being ladylike, I was 7. The accusation was made by one of my female teachers based on a top I was wearing. It exposed my shoulders and a bit of my back. She said trying to look ‘sexy’ was inappropriate for my age. I had no idea what she meant.

Whistle while You Work
We all have that friend who's super organized and has a box with a description on it for everything. They meal prep for a whole week, they clean their home every night before they go to sleep. There are never dishes in their sink and it seems like everything in their house has its place.

The Girl Power TattooTop Story - March 2021
I don't look like a girl with tattoos. I mean, it's not like there's a type but if there was it wouldn't be me. When I was a kid I never liked the idea of them. When I was a teenager some of my friends (with the permission of their cool parents) got them. Still, the thought of putting something eternal on my body was never appealing to me.

To all my identities I've had before
Okay, here's the deal. I just wrote 2500 words for my English class on Friday night and my professor is probably going to hate it since it's not well-structured enough and all that stuff. If I let that happen that would mean I just lost 4 hours of my life (skipping the fact I'm one step closer to getting my Associate's Degree) not including the pizza break. Honestly, I had fun with it so maybe, just maybe you will too. Enjoy my English 01 homework!

The Girl with no Home(town)
Where are you from? It shouldn't be difficult to answer this question. I think at least once a day or a few times a week someone asks me about that and I should be really used to it. It's such a basic phrase, yet somehow I always struggle with it.

Travel Influencer Phenomenon
George Bernard Shaw once said “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself”. Well, some people took it literally and decided to become so called content creators. They post daily on their Instagram or Facebook, or TikTalk or whatever accounts they have and give us the idea that we know everything about them. They basically create this whole new person just for social media purposes. The most successful ones are lucky enough to call themselves ‘the influencers’.

Why I don't care whether I make money on Vocal?
I feel like lately at least once a week I see a 'Staff Pick' titled "How did I make $4,000 on Vocal?" or "How to make real money from writing on Vocal?". Don't get me wrong, there's nothing more I wish I could do than write all day and get money for it. Win all those cool challenges and see my savings account growing, planning my next vacation with the money I earned from writing for vocal.media. Yes, that would be awesome, BUT...
