A Look Into The Unknown
What is retirement and how do you define it? Does it mean that you cannot work in the strictest sense of terms? Most people in the world, they take a job out high school, college, graduate school, trade school, etc., and attempt to stick to it for a lifetime. Once they reach their retirement age, they retire and live the rest of their life. I grew up seeing troves of people at my family’s businesses and they all had the same or similar story when it came to the generalization of working then retirement, usually at the age of 65+. I say, good for them. If they could not see the light of day, and that there was more to life than keeping a job until the point their mobility was such that they couldn’t physically enjoy life, then good for them. I think that light at the end of the tunnel will come quick and swift for them. If on the other hand, someone has the capability to break out of the lifetime working trance, they might just have a chance at seeing what life has to offer before it is swiftly out of reach.

Take Me Anywhere But There
Take a moment to reflect. Take a moment to laugh. Take a moment to cry. Everyday people go about like a conveyor belt, endlessly repeating their mundane lives. Why? In my own beliefs, I think people are tied to the never-ending need and drive for money. Sure, we need it at some point in our lives, but if we want to allow it to escape our lives as much as possible, we must make a concerted effort to rid it as a necessity to survive. I think, some may be able to escape the need for money completely, but for the majority, it serves a tool of well-being. Money serves as the comfort in our lives to make reality happen. Without money we are lost and our lives are lacking the power of direction.

What's My Return
Putting the pieces of life together is always ever-changing and at times, seemingly complex and never-ending. I cannot tell you the exact day or time, but there was a day, when I realized I knew what I wanted. I knew living off-grid was a valuable asset for me in my life and marriage at some point would be an option too. I found my wife before we both found our little piece of paradise. We have our struggles for sure, but it has and will continue to come together to reach the level in which we can both be comfortable waking up together with not a care in the world besides thinking what will we eat today. The choices of abundance in food are available because we simply put seeds in the ground and started watering the plants. Our investment is our land because it will keep us going in the years to come. It is farming for our livlihood, not for profit, primarily. By contuining on this path, we will be 95% self-sustainable. We could be even closer to 100%, but at some point, we have to draw the line and spend a few dollars for some select amenities.

Wrapped Up In My Own Little World
How much is enough? How much money will satisfy you? Why do you do what you do? Do you work to survive? Do you work because you enjoy the environment? Do you work because of the camaraderie between colleagues? Or do you work because if you didn’t you wouldn’t know what to do? Or are you a robot who says you will never retire? Do you have goals that once reached, will change the course of your life?

Where Do We Go From Here?
Who would have ever known that freedom was so far away from what I knew as home. Home is what you make of it for sure, there is no doubt. Whether you are living in the same house you grew up in or one that is a world away, home is what you make of it and you get one shot at doing it right. You can make mistakes and you can bet your bottom dollar I have made a healthy heaping of them. I have built and bought homes, lived alone and with someone for the previous 20 years. I cannot say which was better as they all had their own uniqueness about them. I will just say that they had their time and place and a certain phase in my life, but now I have galloped on to what I hope will be a brighter future moving forward.

Homemade In The Jungle
In the jungle there are many different things to consume, the choice is yours. Food is survival, but it can be fun and rewarding, so get going on the garden and grow your own. Please note: I and my wife are not professional gardeners. We only have hearts filled with the passion to grow, so we try our best and sometimes it works and other times, well, I guess we just eat rice and call it quits for the day. Having the drive and will to succeed will inevitably sustain the momentum to live. How we live on our land is truly unique and we are satisfied with our way, albeit not always perceived to be correct, we adhere to it and nothing else matters. There will always be people who have more in accumulated wealth and they will love to flaunt it. Once you accept your ways and how you want to operate, why concern yourself to anyone else's perceived standards? It is like that famous commercial from years ago (JG Wentworth), "It's my money and I want it now". Remember the classic commercial? Now, take it one step further along. It's your life, take advantage of it now and live YOUR life, not someone else's. Find peace and sanctity in your heart and when the neighbor in the adjacent plot of land comes for a "friendly" visit to showcase his new 150k vehicle, you can have satisfaction knowing that you do not have to compete in any way sort or form.

At Ease Soldier
“You are the Big Boss now I see, that’s great, really really great!” The words are nevertheless spoken from the Minister of Health (in an unnamed country in the Middle East), while on an expansive compound to dine with an owner of a school system, from which I spent time as an International Educational Consultant and School Director. Did I mention he flew in on a helicopter and became my companion for the evening, especially when it came to the nightime stroll around the brilliantly lit expansive farm.

FINDING PARADISE
In the jungle, there is the written and unwritten code of laws and ethics, but the unwritten code is much stronger. If you understand the code and can be a part of it, however unseemly at times, then you are on your way to success. If, on the other hand, you are always wanting to put up a fight, it will be a struggle to survive and anything you have, will eventually lay scattered across the jungle floor and you will be on a flight to the next outpost.

3 Things To Live A Happy Life
Pack up the bags, take out the trash, turn the lights off and lock the door. After being a native in the city of Sin, I decided to take an extended trip to the jungles of Cambodia. I found my 2nd home away from home in Cambodia. I had I won and lost a fortune and then won it back in Las Vegas, but still was not satisfied. Friends came and friends went. I took one direction in life I never knew was possible. Why did I make this choice? In a sense, I wanted to see who was really with me in my life and who was just about the glitz and glamour and believe me, I was rather low key. I quickly found out, before the blaze of social media, it was best to vanish without anyone and be the explorer I always dreamed about. I analyzed the ups and downs of life stateside and life abroad. Life abroad is and always will be the place to go. Thanks America, you helped me choose the path most befitting to me. Why? HAPPINESS. Sure, I come and go from Las Vegas and other places in the USA, but when I need that moment of clarity, it's off to the jungle.
