The Gratitude Experiment
The Beginning A little over a month ago my sister started talking about a book she had purchased. She said the book was about gratitude, and had practices to perform every day. The book was called The Magic by Rhonda Byrne. I had heard of The Secret and The Law of Attraction, and I had also been exposed to various teachings relating to the subject over the years. However, I had never truly immersed myself in any of these systems.

Artificially Artistic
My artistic ability has always been limited to specific areas. My father was an amazing artist. He could draw and sculpt, and he was also a very talented musician. My own artistic abilities seem to be a diluted form of what my dad was capable of. I enjoy making unusual things out of cake and I can sculpt passable representations of many things out of various materials. I would also like to believe that my writing has improved in the year or so I have been working on it. However, I do not consider my ability to draw or paint to be enviable.

Ra's Chariot
This is my first acrostic poem. Although I am originally from Montana, I have lived in California for many years. I find comfort in the sights, sounds, and sensations of the beach. Now that I am here, I can’t imagine living any other way. When the sun makes its voyage each day from east to west, I know I am witnessing the divine journey of the sun god, and all the challenges he must overcome to complete his daily quest.
