The Key to my Heart
It was my eighteenth birthday, and my elderly grandmother held a red wrapped box. Anticipation burned in her eyes as I gingerly unwrapped the perfectly wrapped present. Old stained wood sat in my palms. Strange energy oozed out of every pore of the box. My grandmother’s silvery perm shook with excitement, waiting for me to open it. The rusty hinges squeaked open to reveal a rough iron black key on a leather string. My copper eyes glittered happily at the old necklace.

Pine Tree Camp
The trees towered over me. Stars twinkled in the navy night sky. A large campfire roared in front of me. My red-headed friend Misty chatted away in her white t-shirt and blue leggings. Her dark-haired boyfriend sat on the large log ignoring her and looking at me in my black band t-shirt and spiderweb leggings. Nervously, I played with my long wavy hair that was trimmed inverted. She cleared her throat, and grinned with sinister intent.

His Dark Secret
The vacuum sucked at my husband’s man cave. Why did he have to make such a mess? The door creaked open. Usually it was locked. It looked like a normal space. A large television hung over a black fireplace. However there was a strange layer of dust on it. A strange light illuminated from the floor in the form of a square. The thick white carpet shifted loosely beneath my feet. Old wood greeted my copper eyes. Curiosity forced me to open it. Cautiously, I looked back to see no one. Horror filled my eyes when I saw piles of human bodies and skeletons at the bottom of the room. A scream stuck in my throat as I hurriedly put everything back. Just as the door shut, Darren, my husband came home.

Buried Obsession
The wooden boards creaked from a heavy weight as my eyes flickered open. My head pounded while my throat begged for water. A loud hum buzzed in my ear. My long brown hair was matted from the silk pillow below my sweating head. Darkness swallowed me, causing my brain to want to panic. Dried blood coated my broken fingernails.

72 Hours
The silence was heavy as an older man in a white coat with a large gray mustache looked at me. The gray sweats itched against my pale skin. My skin felt clammy as my copper eyes darted outside the barred windows. Storm clouds formed releasing an edge in the air.

The Elevator
A loud knock banged on my bedroom door woke me up from my long nap after work. I hadn't even changed. Grumbling, I opened the door to my roommate. Her aura was black as the night. There was ill intent wrapped around her spirit. Nervously, I twisted my long brown hair into a bun. Her gum smacked loudly in her mouth.

Fallen Log
The storm crashed around me as my wheels slid on the wet black pavement. My wooden wheel fought me, causing my tires to squeal. My brakes screeched to a sudden halt when there was a giant log in the road. My blonde petite friend Sammy stirred awake in the back seat of my blue station wagon.

Killer Mommy Dearest
“Hey sweetie.” A shrill voice called out, touching my shoulder. “Do you want to come back home with me?” My breath felt short as my boots clicked against the cracked pavement. The neon lights flickered angrily above me. Pain shot through me as a knife struck me in the back. Warm liquid dripped down my back, causing my body to collapse to the ground. A short little lady with a withered face glared back down at me. The knife glinted red in the neon lights as it slammed into my skin, scratching my hip bone. Red blood soaked my black silk nightgown.
