Things I'm Passionate About Part 9
This is part 9 of the things I’m passionate about series of articles. A further look into my tortured mind. 1. Movies I am a massive movie buff. It feels like I’ve seen everything, or that I’m the Rainman for movie trivia. Having spent most of my life alone it kind of makes sense I suppose, that when not studying relentlessly, I’d amuse myself with escapism. Movies being one of the chief methods. They’ve inspired me, influenced my decisions about life, schooling, and careers, they’ve even swayed my decisions regarding some parenting issues here and there I’m sure. For writing about movies, I’d like to write reviews of old and recently released movies, pre-views and my thoughts and speculations on upcoming movies, and for a more personal touch I’d like to write about how they’ve influenced my life. I’d also like to profile favorite actors and the characters they’ve portrayed and maybe how they have also impacted me. All in the hopes of inspiring other people to maybe experience some of the amazing films I’ve seen or to share their own experiences whether they agree with me or not.

Skyrim Builds Weekly: The DarkFlash
This is my first character build write up for Skyrim. I’ve done probably over a hundred builds, but this was really the one I fell in love with lately. I’ll detail his race, standing stone(s), stats, a Roleplaying history for him I came up with that you can use at your leisure, Magic, his gear, mods used to make him, and console chicanery used to tweak his gear if you just want to get into it without trudging through it all. Note this build is a modded build for PC Skyrim Special Edition with all the DLC etc.

Things I'm Passionate About Part 6
Part 6 of this series! A neat one today! Enjoy! 1. Antiques I love antiques, my parents for example, ZING! Sorry Mom and Dad, love you. Yes, they read my work. Anyway digression; I love antiques, old relics from the past that each hold their own stories of history, whether it’s personal history or from your family, to places you might have history with or just love, to our history as a species or civilization as a whole. Not all old things are antiques, but all antiques are from the past. After reading part 5, it should come as no surprise that I love antique weapons chiefly of all; everything from a 500-year-old short-sword my Dad found at auction to old pistols and rifles from the Alamo I have my eye on. They all fascinate me and add value to my collection and net worth. As I write about antiques in the future, weapons or not, I’ll be talking about individual pieces, collections, famous antique dealers, and adrenalizing auctions. Coins are another passion of mine in this regard; a timeline of the evolution of currencies over the millennia utterly fascinates me.

Things I'm Passionate About Part 4
This is part 4 in my series of subjects I’m passionate about, buckle in! 1. Cyborgs, Cybernetics, and Transhumanism This is a long-time love of mine stemming as far back as 80s sci-fi action movies. The idea that we can combine our biology with technology to create something new to define as “humanity” still makes my imagination get excited with the possibilities even after all these years. I was one of the original users of the Better Humans original website about transhumanism I think 17 years or so ago and one of the first subscribers to h+ magazine as I recall. I’d like to expand on this interest with profiles of my favorite cyborgs from fiction and reality, what I think a cyborg is versus say a pseudo-cyborg, cybernetics technologies and how they’ve advanced over the years both in sophistication but also in social acceptance, and transhumanism itself as a concept in my personal viewpoints. This subject is as much about pop-culture and technological advancement as it is about philosophy, psychology, and the progress of humanity as a whole. It’s a far-reaching umbrella that I have a LOT to say about.

Things I'm Passionate About Part 1
In learning to find my “voice” as a writer, and in an attempt to build a portfolio of work, I decided to share a lot of personal insights online because a) it’s the style of the time, b) it will be good to look back on when I’m older (or for my family when I’m dead and they want to revive me as an AI simulacre) and c) it’s therapeutic for me right now. Especially in this case as I’m going to be using it to try to figure out what I’m passionate about in order to give my writing more focus, and hopefully my life as well. Here are things I’m passionate about in no particular order. Part 1:

Skyrim Builds Weekly
I LOVE Skyrim. To an almost unhealthy level. I think most people do, especially judging by the number of people who own(ed) it, still play it daily or weekly, and a modding community that has kept it alive for a decade with more mods being added and updated daily. Over a million of them last I heard from the Nexus (the web’s premier modding community). I have nearly 2,000 hours logged into my game (though some of that is due to leaving it on and logged in for entire weekends when I wasn’t home, or overnight, AND sharing it with my daughter who plays it at least every couple days by herself). Todd Howard and Bethesda are marketing geniuses.
