Lush Czech River Hikes
This is one of my favorite little snapshots that I took from 2019, which was also one of my favorite places that I visited along my three-month travels throughout Europe with my boyfriend. I never thought that I would end up visiting Europe for another 20 years, yet alone visit 11 countries while I was there, including the Czech Republic!

Bath, England: Dip your toe in
I was on a long-haul flight from Seoul, Korea to London Heathrow and got chatting to two Korean girls next to me who were planning the ultimate trip of England. They'd jotted down all the must-see destinations: London (of course), Oxford and then Bath, the city all three of us were bound for. They asked me what I recommended but it was clear the Korean equivalent of TripAdvisor had already nailed the major tourist attractions: The Roman Baths, The Royal Crescent, Thermae Bath Spa...It is not often you're made to think about what you actually like doing in your hometown. I've lived in Bath my whole life -and I don't hit up the Roman Baths every weekend- so what do I actually enjoy doing there?

The Power of the First Friendship
The most difficult part about moving to a new place is getting started. When that new place is in another country, where English isn't the dominant language, the level of difficulty rises significantly. Add a dose of shyness and crippling social anxiety, and a year abroad can start to look like a quite a daunting prospect. Luckily for me, these difficulties were balanced by curiosity, determination, and nearly ten years of previous study in Spanish, which ultimately made my year studying in Sevilla, Spain a transformative one.

Dulwich Picture Gallery
There is something very special about the Dulwich Picture Gallery. For one thing, it is well away from the artistic hub of central London and requires an extra effort for anyone who wishes to visit it. That said, the effort is not an enormous one if the visitor is willing to hop on board a suburban overground train at Victoria Station, travel three stops to West Dulwich station and then take a 10-15 minute walk.
