What to Know Before Getting Deployed
Getting deployed isn't something that most people are happy to look forward to — and who could blame anyone who's scared? When you go to war, you will end up in uncomfortable conditions, you will very likely see things you shouldn't see, and there's also a chance you might get killed.

Minding my own business, I proceeded down the long path. Hands in my pockets, to keep them from the cold, I walked with a mission towards the bus stop. It was a typical winter's day and I, being the "diligent" human being, forgot my winter clothes. I justified this mistake by saying: "It was warm and bright this morning," even though it was the middle of September.

by MARA VERHEYDEN-HILLIARD, Alternate Reality News Service War/Disasters Writer The greatest fireworks display in the history of the world happened yesterday. Most people just think of it as a nuclear war, but many of the survivors considered it the best light show since they closed the planetarium in their city/state/country/continent.

What can we do about homes for all? How can we provide decent homes for everyone? If each nation is to provide homes for all those permanently living within its borders, the first thing necessary is that all authorities and their political opponents become honest, find and face facts, and act to deal with the realities shown by those facts and not play politics with peoples' lives just to get ahead in the opinion polls.

I'm a feminist. It's a dirty word these days, so I figured I'd just get it out there. I'm not one of those so-called feminists that believes in the eradication of the male gender, or one that wants women to be better than men. I want true equality, equal sentencing for sex crimes, to be able to feel the same blissful ignorance a man feels walking down the street as opposed to the much more common for my gender feeling of, "Is the next man approaching me going to hurt me in some way?" and for fathers to be given just as many paternal rights as mothers. Our society judges everything based off of gender, and I hate it.
Dear Donald Trump
Dear Donald Trump, I have yet to call you President Trump. I won't. I did not vote for you and it has nothing to do with me being on welfare, or black, or Muslim, or gay, or a woman. It has A LOT to do with you wanting to build a wall with my tax money to keep out people I don't think should be kept from this country. It has A LOT to do with the fact you are more interested in repealing Obamacare to satisfy your hatred of the man than to benefit Americans. It has A LOT to do with the fact that you wanted to ban Muslims and Syrian refugees from coming into this country even legally or to visit family, just until you could "figure out" what the issue was. But despite my faith in my fellow Americans, you were voted in. At that point, I tried to just accept it. I wasn't one of those crying liberals, or protesting or anything like that, I just sat home and watched you on TV say the things that just made me cringe. I thought, "Well, maybe he just hasn't gotten it down yet." It has been nine months. There are no more excuses. If it took me nine months to learn my job at work, I would have been fired.

Hey there, progressives, and conservatives, and everyone in between the political spectrum! You may be shocked by the title of this piece (or misread it in the first try) but...Yeah, that's the point. Would you be surprised if I told you that not all liberals think the same way? Some liberals are actually the exact opposite of snowflakes (which might be a hard concept for a right winger to understand). As a matter of fact, there are some progressives who are actually just as aggressive (as conservatives) about their views and are not afraid to defend those views with ferocity.
