How can I live in the moment?

Dwelling on the past. Anxiety about the future. Dislike the present

By De Ji YuePublished 2 years ago 5 min read

Let's start by asking a rhetorical question to find out why - why can't many people live in the present moment.

It's just these twelve words: dwelling on the past. Anxiety about the future. Do not like the present moment.

Everyone wants to take one step at a time, to have a smooth life, peace, and happiness, but this is almost impossible. Many people do not mash into the depths of life, only touching a foot and then retreating, using the assumptions in their mind to escape into the fading past and distant future.

After a while, you will feel muddled, surrounded by a sense of emptiness, only to remember to live in the present.

And what is living in the present moment?

--To live in the present is to live in the joy of the moment as well as the pain of the moment. Beyond that, there is separation, bitterness, reality, falsehood, embarrassment, brokenness, sloppiness, etc.

How can you live in the present moment?

In the face of all this, you must always say to yourself: Don't be afraid. Don't be lost. Don't worry.

Keep yourself calm and then let's take it one step at a time.

First, do not dwell on the past, block out memories for a while.

The past is always good, even if it is not good, put on the shell of memories, it is still good. You pick up every cry, every joy, are loaded with a pocket, heavy as hell, but you have to carry them forward because you can not let go, can not let go.

Those bad things, you try to reminisce through memories to re-frame them, to turn them into good. And for those things that were good, you also do not let go, of the imagination to make it better.

Memories cannot be tampered with, they only provide a channel to follow, a temptation to lure you back.

You have to stop at the right time, stand still, take a look at it and then turn around and continue on your way.

Secondly, to do not anxiety about the future, and to maintain a normal mind.

Some people are doing what is at hand, and the heart is thinking about the future scenery/failure as if the whole life is over. After a day has passed, when you look back and think about it, you find that you have not only screwed up the work in front of you but also deluded yourself into designing the future.

What is the future? What never comes according to plan is the true nature of the future. No one can control it, it will find ways to trick you, and make your life deviate from the track, and if you do not have a normal heart, you will go through its ups and downs, and anxiety.

"Don't rush, and don't think about the future too often, because you might not live up to the future you thought you would." This is what I often say to myself.

But as a writer, "thinking too much" is a common occurrence, so I need to know that these "meals" have to be eaten in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening, not every moment of the day. To restrain yourself from anxiety about the future, as in the case of weight loss.

Once people are anxious, they will rampage, what others say is what, others do follow, and lose themselves. You need to know that you are the most important fulcrum in your entire life, and only when every step is taken down to earth, your soul can be stood up.

Next, don't run away from the moment, and get serious and focused on what's in front of you.

I often think that if I like someone or something very much now, I will blame myself for not liking it sooner, and I will worry about what to do if I don't like it anymore.

At this point, we need to learn to confirm with a moment of intuition, if this thing will regret not doing, then immediately do it. Strive to put the things that are about to be delayed, into the present moment.

To live in the moment without distractions, it is not enough to do the above, you have to withdraw your consciousness, let go of your senses, and feel the moment like an artistic creator.

Sound, temperature, smell, color, touch, know how to use your body, and explore all the beautiful things at the moment. The cold brightness at the window may be a sword rather than a light. Flies in a room covered with sunlight may be able to weave a web. Snow has a shape, and perhaps each piece is different. Listen to the sound of the wind blowing the bamboo leaves, today's must be more melodious than yesterdays.

Last summer I stayed with a friend at the beach, and when it was very late at night, I listened to the sea from my balcony, and the sound was fierce, not at all like the gentleness of the day. I took my phone and recorded it and brought it back home. Once suddenly remembered, open to listening, and found that there is a big difference with the impression of the sea, only to know that, even if technology is more advanced, some things can never take away.

The mood, the heart, and the state of mind are different, and the senses are naturally different.

In the movie "No questions asked," in the "sit and listen to the rain" of the clip, tin roof drip drip drip sound, there is rain through the air to the classroom mud, wetting the pants and feet. Shen Guangyao pushed open the window, the curtain of rain, the sound of loud running slogans on the playground, the sound of rain, a fisherman in a straw raincoat netting two fish, or the sound of rain, children holding newspapers under the eaves of the house to hide from the rain, the sound of more rain.

We have to learn to keep our place in the noisy and complicated world, sit quietly and listen to the rain, set our minds on things, and live in the present.

Finally, since you have chosen to live in the moment, you have to clean up after yourself at the moment.

How long has it been since you've laughed out loud, the loud kind, the kind that is laughing completely unconcerned about others? You may not have laughed like that for a long time, because you are afraid that your voice is not good, that your relaxed face is not refined enough, and that your reaction does not match the grand joy of the moment. You feel that you are not good enough.

Kiyama recorded a passage that struck me: The Buddha repeatedly said in the scriptures that it is only to the kind of person that you can speak to because this cool and rolling infusion has the potential to shatter you.

You have to get yourself together and then take on all that is in the moment.

You have to make things around you look comfortable and make yourself feel satisfied.

You have to fall in love with yourself at this moment, with everything that is within sight.

That way, you don't choose to run away because you don't like the present moment. You don't have to be full of panic and fragmentation in the moment of bearing down.

All the good things, you should hold, those bad, you can also hold, because your thin body is the best container in the world. Born to receive.

The world is unpredictable, everything is in a state of change, cherish the moment
