To Greenwater

With Someone You Love

By Mike Singleton - MikeydredPublished about a year ago β€’ 1 min read

This was inspired by two lovely friends. I just wanted to imagine a place of love and healing. I hope this has worked for you.

There is a couplet in Bob Dylan's "Shelter From The Storm" that also helped inspire this:

Try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm

Come in, she said ,I'll give ya shelter from the storm

The color green always offers calm and inspiration, doesn't it? Lovely poem, Mike!

That was beautiful Mike. I would happily recite this to my love and claim it as my own. No, not really.

  • I wish I can go to that place. I just wanna go somewhere and go off grid. Things have not been good and I just don't know how to handle it. Beautiful poem!

  • I don't know, that looks like quite the algae bloom. It doesn't look like a good spot either for swimming or fishing. Then again, at least it's not a blue algae bloom. In spite of the above caveat, love the poem. Though some might read it as romantic, I believe to call it such would be a disservice. It is so much more. It is an expression of life-long love.
