Where Were You?
Introduction This is a brilliant, simple song by The Mekons, released on FAST Records (FAST 7), but it is a plea to VOCAL and Justin@Vocal to sort out the accounts of thoses who are still locked out and actually answer support tickets.

Beautiful
Your scars are a map Your journey to self-healing You are beautiful Author’s Note: This is my twelfth day in the fifty-day song/lyric-inspired senryū challenge. Today’s poem is inspired by “Scars to Your Beautiful” by Alessia Cara, which you can listen to below. I just wanted to write something to lift up all those feeling oppressed by modern beauty standards, and this song is so moving and inspiring in that way that it inspired me to do so. I hope you like it and my poem.

Soft-bellied Prey
Wasn't I Supposed to Remember something? Yes, I'm Sure that I Was supposed to. But There's a Void in my head Where That thing Should have been. It's felt Draped over The piano's innards. Muting An affect that Didn't need much help. I am a bird More days than Than I am a human. Prey in a Place that values The hunger of the predator. I don't Have those Kinds of hungers. But I Do wonder If that's the thing That I Misplaced In my memory. If I've lost The memory of Predation, then I'm... Fine Being some Soft-bellied prey. I'd rather be The one wounded Than do the wounding.
