I glimpsed behind your mask at a masquerade ball

And saw rain, a storm, an icy cold glacier

A floating iceberg, detached, moving back and forth, a mysterious time crystal

Tick tock

An isolated system, we spun both ways at once

We waltzed

Drawing from my eyes all energy, unable to resist the pierce, to gaze away

Far away

To save my breath, to recapture oxygen, to breathe

A storm in your eyes entombed me with a glaze of ice so heavy, I died from hypothermia, so cold

it burned

An ice burn scar

forever deep, forever ours, forever love

Tick tock

I cannot tell how much of this is overwhelming love or a tale of a lifetime ending in a tragic separation. Either way, it's full of raw intensity and I see the love inside of the glacier and hypothermic death. It's startling, your metaphor here, and I love not being quite sure about it's ultimate meaning: is icy coldness a sign of love or not? Is death here good or bad? Maybe it's both, as love can be both.
