Baby steps of the inept
won't get you over that edge.
Open your eyes, the ones that cry-
self-pity crowds that ledge.

Tears can't jump over that hump,
the one you dare to climb.
Clipped wings, silent dreams,
hinders the want to thrive.

Find a risk and take it!
But no one is looking.

On Winning and Losing
Recently, the pleasant surprise of placement on the Vocal Bonus Leaderboard sent me down a rabbit hole. Now, rabbit holes are a pretty common place for me to spend time, but I don't always feel the call to write about them. To be honest, the thought of sharing some of them mortifies me.

I remember, returning from our orientation after having been elected speaker of the house in our regional student congress, having a panic attack. As I approached the door to our chamber/classroom I remember telling myself, "Just pretend you know what you're doing." We had a great time!
