dog
It's no coincidence that a dog is a man's best friend; they're more faithful than most other animals, and more faithful than many people.
Dagney Shares Lessons in May — Three More to Read Today
Just as promised Dagney is sharing life lessons everyday this month. The first stressed the benefits of relaxation and ignoring the negative. Today her behaviors shine a spotlight on communication. She reminds us that words are not always necessary to send a message.
Brenda MahlerPublished 3 years ago in PetlifeThe one who saved me but doesn't know it
I am a 38 year old women who has been diagnosed with sever depression and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I had some very dark days in the past. There where days where I did not want the sun light to come into the house, I did not want to shower or even get up from the couch. I just let in the darkness and the dark thoughts. As a mother I would never cry in front of my children I would go to the bathroom while they slept or just told them I was going to go take a shower and just cry, sat there and let the water so call wash away my pain.

So, the time came for a dog. There's no such thing as 'the right time', only the time when your heart feels it needs a dog to snuggle in there and make you a better version of yourself. I was working from home, and I had visions of me and the dog having quality, quiet (important for me!) time together. We wanted to rescue, and we'd been to a couple of rescue centres, but nothing fell into place. It wasn't to be just yet.

Daymon has been rescued, mostly rehabilitated, the entertainer of the dog pack, and seems to take commands without them even being spoken. (see previous two stories of his rescue and rehabilitation)

Years ago I had just moved to Tucson, before it became a sprawling city. I was living in the desert in a small rental home with a bunch of friends, and was working as a substitute teacher, trying to finish my degree. The only thing that was missing in my life was a dog. Dogs fill that empty space, with a magic that soothes every inch. They are there for you, in the good times, and the challenges, and they will find you, wherever you may be at just the right moment. So I decided that I would go to any length, to find a dog suitable to my lifestyle and could fill that void.

This picture I took on a trip to Greece is one I come back to again and again. It haunts me. I took it in Mytilene, the capital city on the Greek island of Lesbos.

Not the Dog You Think It Is. When I say “my dog Max” most of my family think of the albino Sharpei that lived a short, tumultuous life with my parents and me when I was fourteen (or so). Typically that’s what I would be speaking of if I were to mention my dog, Max. However, there was another dog named Max. One I had before the infamous one that everyone knows.
Frank ShawPublished 3 years ago in PetlifeA childhood dream fulfilled
For so many years, I was longing for a canine companion, but never fulfilled. I am feeling joyed having my first pet dog after long years waiting. For a dyspraxic person like myself, it is a great feeling. Special need individuals show an excellent connection to dogs. I experienced a difficult school and college life. My work life was not the best, as I got bullied and misunderstood. I never settled in a workplace .
Pritthijit DattaPublished 3 years ago in PetlifeHow to Stop Your Dog Barking
Many pet owners have a barking dog problem. Many different methods have been tried with little or no success. Some have been discussed here as to what might work best for your situation. It is probably advisable to consult with your veterinarian and/or dog behavior counsel for specific suggestions based on medical history, breed, age and overall temperament.

a.a.gallagherPublished 3 years ago in PetlifeOne Lesson a Day from a Dog in May
Observing a dog is educational. Dagney teaches me something new every day when I take time to watch and interpret her behavior. Of course, my interpretations could be all wrong it’s not like a dog has the ability to correct my assumptions, but that doesn’t make the lessons less valuable.

It was an early winter morning in Maine. The sun was rising and as it did so, it warmed the road ahead of me, wrapping me in a soft blanket of fog. I felt cofident of my future. I was filled with possibilities as I drove home. It was an early winter morning in Maine. The sun was rising and as it did so, it warmed the road ahead of me, wrapping me in a soft blanket of fog. I felt cofident of my future. I was filled with possibilities as I drove home. I chose to take this back road because it was so peaceful. A country road where the houses were set far back, leaving the wooded areas to retake the land. Sometimes During my drive I often encountered deer, owls, and an occasional moose. This road surrounded Ime to with my thoughts and beauty.
