Being smarter means one thing apart from another, which is the way you respond to things that either come your way or happen to you. In definition being smarter actually means having quick-witted intelligence. From an intelligence standpoint, you must have wit so quick it can take on any challenges. For example, if you catch a falling toddler as a father, then that's quite smart compared to not doing anything at all. But, what actually makes a person smarter? Is there any way to be a smarter person? There sure is, I assure you. Following are 5 ways to become a smarter person:

1. Rest your brain

Begin by resting your brain. A rested brain will perform faster and smarter. In fact, a tired or exhausted brain rarely perform well. You will surely know when you brain is tired. It can be felt as if it has too much tension on it. Rest it, get some sleep, then your brain will definitely perform better later on. What's the problem with resting well? It's not wrong. It costs you some time used in sleeping, but well, everyone else does sleeping too. You wouldn't lose out easily.

2. Feed yourself with games

Games, in itself, are challenges. The more you challenge your brain, the tougher it becomes, in terms of cognitive muscles, memory muscles, and sometimes even perception muscles. The more you play games, the smarter your brain becomes. Games, from traditional games to mobile phone games are a sure way to entertain you on a weekend or off hours, but it also makes you better in the brain department. Play at least an hour a day, to train your brain to become smarter. The smarter you, comes from play!

3. Think outside the box

A box is a box, no matter how you look at it. Apart from the contents or the emptiness of a box, there is nothing else to see, touch, or do anything with. However, if you would outside the box, by the sides of the box, somewhere up the ceiling, or even at the bottom of the box, on the floor it sits on, you will find many other cues, of something else, some other stuffs, with shapes, designs, and colours like you have never imagined before. What's stopping you from thinking outside the box? Nothing right? Just look around and you will find more information, more knowledge, and there you just got smarter about the box itself.

4. Take brain supplements

Brain supplements, isn't cheap, but not too expensive either. Purchase one to experiment, if it makes your brain functions better, sometimes at a whole new level. If they could make you smarter, why not? It's an investment in one form, which could bring you success in your studies or careers. Sooner or later, you find out that you simply have more returns than what you invested in the beginnings. Pick a well known and reputed brand to start with. Don't go for the shady ones, unless you risk doing irreparable damage to your thinking machine.

5. Believe in yourself

Do you know how important it is to believe in yourself? If you would believe that your cognition is top notch, then it will become top notch. If you believe that it is lagging and slow, it will become just that, like what you believe it is. Which is why, we come to this point to talk about how important it is to believe in yourself. Everything you believe about will come to manifest as a reality or belief in your life. The Universe will even think in the Celestial plane, that "Hey, that's you, it's what you wanted to become, it's all your own choices". Hope you understand that it is a must to believe in proper words and proper thinking of these words of yourself. Never underestimate the power of words and thoughts.

6. Cleanse negative programming

From above, we realized that if we would believe positively about ourselves then we become. Similarly, if we would have had negative thinking or beliefs, naturally there are already negative programming in our reality. In order to cleanse away these negative programming, simply be aware of that something which seems to be a programming, and consciously dislike it away, such as for example, hating it away. An example of this is, if you constantly feel fear when you want to drive, then dislike this programming consciously until you no longer feel the same fear.
