happiness
Happiness, defined; things that help you find happiness, keep it, and share it with others.

I am up late. Again. But tonight, it's different. It's an unusually warm night. There's a breeze; not enough to be disturbing, but enough to make the leaves on the trees rustle, and to make the stars look especially bright. I feel good tonight. I have not had a drop to drink, and I ate a normal meal.

I didn't even know how to spell my middle name until I was six. My mom made up our names, so we were destined to be different. She didn't think about the possibility of us not being hired or ridiculed because of them, she was thinking about the uniqueness we would represent because we were HER children, and dared someone to think differently.
Dajanae DavisPublished 6 years ago in MotivationA Post for Those Who Don't Know Where or Who They Are Yet
As cliché as it is, life is just one big what if. Everything happens for a reason—a quote I've always passed on situations, and an ex boyfriend who told me it was stupid made me realise even more so, that life pans out the way it's meant to.
Lou BPublished 6 years ago in MotivationHow Changing My Perspective Changed My Entire Life
"Will I remember this day 10 years from now?" This is a question I often ask myself, thinking what have I done today that will help me remember this day 10 years from now. Whenever I ask anyone in my family about their teenage years, all they remember is what type of person they were back then. They don't necessarily remember the individual moments, or the times they felt the happiest. Does that mean that they haven't done anything worth remembering? I guess that's the answer I'll never know. All I know, however, is that I don't want to end up in the same place as them.

Dear enthusiastic employee at CVS, Before I begin, I just want you to know that I think you are lovely. You attempt to make conversations with those around you and even offered to help me with my purchases out to my non-existent car. I’m sure that you meant well in all things but I just want to point out what you did was enlightening but hurtful.

When I first saw the 30 before 30 trend, I thought that this looked like a good way to put pressure on myself and ensure that the future me felt like a failure and was sufficiently depressed.
Corinne McCaffertyPublished 6 years ago in MotivationWhat’s Wrong With Being Confident?
The other day my best friend asked me how I get up everyday and be the confident, most baddest bitch she knows... well, she actually just asked me how I’m so confident but potato, pa-tah-toe, yeah?

No journey towards the self is more or less valid. Some journeys look so beautiful on the outside but how do we measure the inner beauty of the journey towards the self?

At one time, you've probably heard a friend or someone else say something like this: "I'm so ugly." You may have told them no, you're gorgeous! Spoiler alert, everyone reading this, you are. You're incredible, and each and every one of you is amazing and unique.
Abigail HoyPublished 6 years ago in MotivationThe Comfort of Being Okay
I have come to realize that there is truly something to be said for being merely okay. As someone who has always tried to appear to be happy, this was a discovery for me. The concept of the daily lies we tell each other revealed itself to me over the summer. I started thinking about how, in today's world, it is effortless to come off as happy. We have social media, obviously, where we can easily put on a smile for the snapshot photo we post, although our followers will never really know what is behind that plastered smile.
Josie ElizabethPublished 6 years ago in MotivationEvolving
I’m going to start off with a really honest statement: I have no idea what I’m doing. I, a twenty-year-old college student with a part-time job and a fiancé, am completely and utterly lost. In fact, I have never felt LESS secure in my entire life than I do right now. Why?
