Do You Feel Alive?
We often get so frazzled by the haste of modern life that we forget the simple joy and beauty found in stopping to smell the flowers. This could mean either literally stopping to make contact with nature—even if it does trigger a sneeze or two—or doing so in a way that involves you truly appreciating the things you have around you.

I love being alive. I love seeing when the sky is purple and pink and orange, and I love watching storm winds flip vacant hammocks over, and I love listening to rain and watching the moon.
Kylee WinnettPublished 6 years ago in MotivationWhy You Should Stop Reading That Book (and Other Stuff)
For most of my life, or at least the portion of it that I have read for pleasure, I have had a ridiculous inability to stop reading unsatisfying books. Even if the book has been excruciatingly dull, I force myself to the last page in a minor act of self-torture and I hate myself for it.

Step One: Drink a pint of tap or bottled water every morning with a sliced lemon squeezed into it—this will help to cleanse your body first thing in the morning and the lemon juices will work to detoxify any unneeded chemicals in your body.

I used to walk around every day carrying a backpack full of bricks, because that’s what I thought I had to do. I’d look around and see everyone around me with their shoulders hunched forward and their gaze cast downward and think eh, that’s life. I wore the backpack to classes, to work, to social exchanges…sometimes, I would even forget to take it off before laying in bed every night and lose sleep over the pressure of the weight. One morning, I woke up…spine knotted, joints aching, heart filled with dread over carrying the damn backpack throughout the day ahead… and I decided to cheat. I looked both ways to make sure I was unseen, and then I slid one of the bricks out and tossed it clear through the window. The shattering glass sounded like wind chimes.
Kylee WinnettPublished 6 years ago in MotivationSaturday!!!! My Saturday!!!
As everyone already knows, there are seven days in a week. In a normal person's life, those days might be divided into three categories: work, personal, and reverence. For me, they were divided the same way. Mondays to Fridays were fine. When I got to a Monday, I couldn't wait for a Friday. After Friday came MY day. SATURDAY!

Kriss KingPublished 6 years ago in Motivation5 Things the Universe is Always Trying to Tell You
1. You Are Loved We all sometimes feel as if we are alone, unloved, or unworthy- But God, Source, or the Universe disagrees. There is an unconditional love that is always present through Source (God, Universe, etc.). Every moment of every day, throughout everything we do - good or bad, we have access to that love. We just need to learn to silence our thoughts and look past our ego to open ourselves up to the voice of Source. This can be done by practicing meditation, mindfulness, and other methods of quieting our thoughts like yoga, taking a bath, driving, journaling, or listening to music.
Lexi WhitePublished 6 years ago in MotivationHow Positive Emotions Can Be Life Changing
For a long time now negative emotions have been identified as necessary emotions; they help to initiate the "fight or flight" mode when in danger. The negative emotions we experience help us narrow in on the danger and then make a decision that is in our best interest based on the danger we are facing. If you are feeling depressed, you know you should take some actions such as watching a good comedy, having a visit with good positive friends, and other activities to lift the mood. If you feel you are in danger from a person or an animal, you know that you may need to flee or stand your ground to fight the situation. The negative emotions allow us to narrow our perceptions to the situation.
Richard BaileyPublished 6 years ago in MotivationWho Am I Actually?
When you read the title, what did you picture? Did you visualize yourself exactly how you are right now, or were you bombarded with imagery of who you’d like to be? That question is something I ask myself daily and has recently become more of a burden then I’d like it to be.

Life can be stressful. Stress can take many forms, right? We have relationship stress, financial stress, work stress, and family stress. Stress that feels overwhelming, stress that produces panic, and stress that makes us depressed and anxious basically a hot mess.
Cindy AtheyPublished 6 years ago in MotivationHappiness Comes First
Happiness is an important part of life, but often times, we seem to forget about it entirely. We get so caught up in work, school, and relationships that we sometimes forget about our own wellbeing. Many people tend to complain about these aspects of their lives, rather than appreciating the good experiences they have. But if those things are really worth complaining about, then why waste your time complaining instead of actually going out and trying to make them better? Sure, things like jobs and friends are needed in our lives, but they should never cost us our happiness or make us feel miserable more often than not.
