A TRAINED MIND IS BETTER THAN ANY SCRIPT
“In this way, you must understand how laughable it is to say, ‘Tell me what to do!’ What advice could I possibly give? No, a far better request is, ‘Train my mind to adapt to any circumstance.’ … In this way, if circumstances take you off script… You won’t be desperate for a new prompting.” - Epictetus, DISCOURSES, 2.2.20b-1;24b-25a

The 3 Ls that keep us away from all types of success
If we take some time to think about why we are at our current position in life, we can immediately see that every bit of our downfall, every setback, and every one of our shortcomings have three specific contributors to them. As I go over those contributors, it’s important to know that first and foremost success comes in all forms. You have your financial success, personal goal success, life goal success, success in our relationships with people, basically anytime we found ourselves achieving exactly what we strived for in order to experience this little and almost impossible thing to find called happiness, we identify this as a form of success. However, success doesn’t comes easy, in fact most of us go through the majority of our lives only achieving a small amount of what we desire, while a few percentage of the world’s population are able to obtain most our their desires. So what makes the individual who gain success so special from everyone else? Actually the real question is what are the rest of us doing or not doing that makes us different from those who are living their best life right now? Whether they have obtain financial freedom, found themselves in the right career making a difference in society, or are currently in the most loving, true, and long lasting relationship with someone they are head over heels in love with, the individual who are successful had obviously done something right with their time on this earth while most of us are looking at their wonderful life from a distance where we wish we could be just like those people. While there are so many ways to achieve success, what I find very hilarious is how we find ourselves struggling just to find one that really works. When we look back in our lives, those of us who are still wondering where we went wrong in life, I guarantee you that we will find that there are always three common factors that kept us from having every desire we strive to achieve. For those of us who still haven’t figure them out yet, here are the three common factors or as I like to called them the 3 Ls that keep us in the losing position in life.

Juneteenth Lives
What a blessed time to be a black person in 2020. This statement doesn't discredit the beautiful nationalities that make us all unique around the world.. BUT black people do I love me some melanin? Hell to the yes! This is such a time to be celebrating our history and as Auntie Maxine Waters would say " reclaiming our time". Because it is our time, our time to get what is overdue to us. Equality, respect, justice, and reparations. Justice and equality for all is the American way right? At least it was suppose to be. It will be you know why? We highjacked it and made them listen. Either through riots or peaceful protesting the world is watching and listening. I often listen to Bob Dylan's song The Times They Are A Changing and from beginning to end each lyric is so moving and powerful now as the impact back then when the track was first released. When he says, 'The order is rapidly fadin', and the first one now will later be last, for the times they are a changing". I felt those lyrics in my soul. I'm sure you can feel it too. Right before our eyes we have witnessed history unfold on so many levels we can hardly keep up.

The journey of catching buses
The problem of trying to be successful is not that "it's about the journey"... Allow me to create this image in your head about trying to chase success. Imagine all your life trying to catch a bus, imagine, fully immerse yourself in the situation. it's a bus you're late to, and it's hard catching it anyways, when you head out catching it, in full sprint, a girl at the station tells you its ok, you don't have to run. there's another one in like 30 minutes, you suddenly realize you don't know the girl and you unconsciously know you cannot trust her. you make a run for it.

Even the Best Changes Can Be Scary
I love home improvement shows. I think it's because they take space that isn't working, or sometimes hideous, and they transform it into functional beauty. I've always thought I'd be amazing to have someone come in and transform my house into something designed for me (of course I need to buy a house first).

Coronavirus Diaries
Wednesday 11th March There's a lot of doubt around how "serious" Covid-19 is. Rumours about Italy and lockdown, the situation in China, death tolls and cases rising. The mistake is thinking the problem is on the other side of the world. I'm meant to be travelling to Paris for the weekend with family, we go ahead cautiously. "Stock up on hand gel!" Mum's orders. I go to Boots after work, there isn't any, hardly any toilet paper or pasta either. Then Tesco, none there too. I brush it off. "Do we need face masks?" my sister asks. Famous last words.

KNOW YOUR WORTH
Lesson 1: Be positive always. Believe in yourself and always like yourself, be kind and true to yourself always. As confidence comes from within where it will shine on the outside. Be comfortable with what you see everyday in the mirror regardless of what you don't like e.g. Weight, Height, Appearance. Be proud of who we are no matter what others say whether it’s negative or positive. Be confident in all that you do to aspire in professionalism or personal goals, believe in having great relationships at work or in personal relationships. Without self belief and being positive it would be hard to know your worth and value.
