We All Need A Spoonful Of Sugar
Confidence is an extremely under estimated word. Gaining the power of confidence is one of the most difficult things imaginable. Taking from personal experiences, vulnerability and the lack of self love is something people love to take advantage of. Now, close your eyes and think with me, when was the last time you truly felt confident with every inch of your body. Take a deep breath. Imperfections are what makes us human. When you look at any part of nature, imperfections are what makes them beautiful. Each grain of sand, piece of grass, leaf on the trees and each person in this world are different. For some people, feeling confident might be something that comes at ease, they look at themselves in the mirror and love what they see. For most people, achieving self-love is something extremely difficult and that is okay. I am not going to sugar coat anything, loving every inch of yourself can be close to impossible. You might like your face one day but oh there's that one little pimple that no one else can see except for me but I'll still think about it constantly throughout the day. Throughout our life our confidence decreases. Why does this happen? Is it because of the societal standards that are shown to us at such a young age. Is it social media and the unrealistic expectations of the "perfect body". Or, is it just simply because of the constant comparison of other people. You might be thinking, how do I just erase all of this from my life? Well, I'm here to give you the breakdown of how to start. Let me just acknowledge one crucial piece of information, wanting to have a great body or perfect skin can be perfectly achievable. I'm here to show you how to love yourself before and after you attain these goals. Step one: UNFOLLOW UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat all have influencers who are setting expectations for your appearance which are in most cases unattainable without harming your body. I suggest to unfollow all of the influencers who encourage either this behaviour or who publicize these unrealistic images. I am in no way saying that these people are doing something wrong on purpose, for your own health it would be better to follow people who give you hope and make you feel actually good about your skills and appearance. Follow any motivational speakers, body positive influencers or people you share the same opinions with. This will improve your mental state greatly. Step Two: DO THINGS THAT YOU ENJOY. Studies have proven that if you start focusing on doing at least one or two things each day that you truly enjoy it will improve your positivity and mental state extremely. There are multiple advantages to doing this. One, you'll feel energized and excited to wake up each morning to do things that YOU enjoy. Secondly, you won't be focused so much on comparing yourself to how other people are doing because you'll be busy and happy with your experiences and achievements right now. On my page you can find a journaling template to experience every day doing something that you love.

The Background
A few days ago, I was driving home from work when I looked down the road and saw that I was a few hundred feet away from a wall of rain. Several thoughts came into mind. “Oh no, now? After how long of a day it was?” Was one of them. It was quickly shut out by the realization of how the rain glittered against the sunlight on it, making it look like that instead of a downpour, I was going to be driving through a curtain of diamonds and glitter. Finally, I clicked on my windshield wipers and drove through the downpour, feeling more optimistic about the day than I did before.

A wonderful evening at the Blue Star Cafe
A wonderful afternoon at the Blue Star Café So in the last 48 hours I went from stinking and sleeping in my car with my essentials to being able to sit back and enjoy some beautiful sunshine and watch life unfold right before my eyes. It’s amazing how strong conviction can change things around for the better if you just hold on long enough….

LIFE IS A BATTLEFIELD
“Don’t you know life is like any military campaign? One must serve on watch, another in reconnaissance, another in the front line… So it is for us - each person’s life is a kind of battle, and a long and varied one too. You must keep watch like a soldier and do everything commanded… You have been stationed in a key post, not some lowly place, and not for a short time but for life.” - Epictetus, DISCOURSES, 3.24.31-36

My journey during COVID 19
Ever since COVID 19 has made an impact on all of our lives, I have found myself struggling at certain times. I work in the vehicle repair industry and, to that effect, I haven't really stopped working ever since the UK went into full quarantine on the 23rd March, following the Mothering Sunday that had just passed.
