Where Has My World Gone?
As we get older it seems we get to reflect more on our past, and what we have missed and enjoyed. Sitting on my porch under the stars many interesting thoughts have come to me. Some I really enjoyed and some made me pause for a moment thinking where has my world gone.

Motivational Ideas (Part 1)
1. Whenever we feel that life is getting tough, and that it’s difficult to resist sins, we can just think about the happiness we feel when we end our exams. We had to resist things like procrastination, playing, hanging around with friends, while we had to study hard. Likewise, imagine the happiness we will feel when all the things that we were prohibited will suddenly become accessible to us in paradise. So, this worldly time can be thought of as the time between the beginning and the end of our exam season. And if we were resisting sins and keeping ourselves solely dedicated to righteousness, then as soon as the exam session ends, we can imagine what happiness we can expect as a result of all our worldly efforts.

A Spark Of Light
Glow can be a very broad term with different meanings, but the same concept. As stated online and in dictionaries, Glow means " 1. To give out steady light without flame. 2.Have an intense color, light and shine. 3. Have a heightened color or bloom on skin as a result of warmth or health. 4. Feel deep pleasure or satisfaction and convey it through one's expression and bearing. Many people would take glowing as a compliment on their outer appearance, but the truth is, anyone can be outwardly beautiful, and as we age, sometimes our glow starts to fade. As Maya Angelou stated " Nothing can dim the light that shines from within." These truths only bring us back to our real question, what does it mean to glow from within? Not only this, but what are some ways that I glow from within as an individual?

Suffering by Questioning
I used to question everything. Every. Little. Thing. And not only did I question all of it, I resisted. I slithered backwards into my safe haven of negativity, pessimism, and cynical thinking. I evaded any sense of clarity, denying that nothing could ever be simple for a radical mind like mine.

What Changes In A Year
When I look at where I was last year, I see loss. Not in the physical sense, but mentally? I didn't know where I was, where I was going, or what the future held. Since then, so many things have changed for the better- a strange feeling considering we are living through a pandemic.

The Butterfly Effect
I know you have probably heard this a lot, as well as said it a lot, but let me just remind you; 2020 fucking blows. So far, we have had six months of natural disasters, murders and political chaos. We have had to lock our doors for days at a time, too scared to leave and too scared to let in what lays beyond our four walls. We have had to find solace within ourselves and become our own best friend when we weren’t able to see others. We have learnt about the darkness that resides within the same world that brings so much light, and we have actively been consuming knowledge to help reduce the destruction. It has been a shock to the human psyche to say the least. But through this shock to our natural balance of work, play, sleep and freedom, I believe we have gained a better understanding of reality rather than the cotton candy version we once believed life was. And with this understanding, it is quite easy to realise that we actually, cannot, control shit.

Routines
Since I suffer from anxiety, bi-polar, acute depression & psychosis, and I am a single mom, I have learned that what helps me is a routine. Children thrive off of routine, and it makes adult life a lot easier to manage. Another thing that I have learned while dealing with my daily struggles is that taking things one day at a time and taking time to breathe can make your life a lot simpler. A simple life is a happy life. A happy life encourages a long life. Because I am not perfect, my routine is not the same every day, but I do have a basic go-to routine if I see my day is starting to get away from me.
