Why I’m Thankful For The Falls
I can't believe I actually understand this now. I could not see this 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, even 2 months ago! I was trying so hard to make some stuff work that was just never supposed to work! Yes, I'm aggressively saying this! It was freaking exhausting, and I failed miserably at all of it. Or did I?

For You, Whoever You Are
It started, they say, with a bang. Energy and matter were flung across the expansive void, filling it steadily with light and gas. Some of this would condense into shapes, and some of those would form planets, and only a select few of those had the right kind of stuff to create life.

What comes with being thankful?
What comes with being thankful? Joy? Happiness? Love? Being thankful depends on the perspective of each individual, the challenges they have faced, how they face those challenges, and what being thankful means to them. Some may see thankfulness as something that comes from what you have, rather than seeing the greatness they have achieved, the challenges they have overcome and the people who have supported them and stood by them in times of need. This year we have faced many challenges including job loss, loss of income, loss of social gatherings and adapting to the new format of online learning. With each challenge came potential to fail or to be great. Not only has my school become an online format but my six-year-old son has also switched to an online format for his first-grade class. Though it was a tough transition in the beginning I have tired, failed, and tired again. In learning to teach my son, new ways to learn my own material and adapt to the challenges faced by the pandemic at hand, I have discovered my true potential and what I can achieve if I put my all into my schoolwork. Being thankful is about more than what you are given. Being thankful is about the hardship's we face and the ability to work hard and get though them. For me being thankful is a way of expressing the joys in life that help make who we are and who we have become. Looking back on the challenges we’ve faced and being able to say we made it through them is one of the many reasons to be thankful in today’s world of tragedy.

Restored Thankfulness
Thanksgiving. A time of year that ironically reminds me of falls, and coldness. Not just because of the season in which it resides. I’ve been in three major accidents, all during the Fall or beginning of Winter season, and subconsciously, around this time of our annual traverse around that bright, glowing star that we call our sun, I am reminded of the downward spiral that my life has taken. You’re probably thinking this is a bit dark and gloomy for a story geared toward giving thanks. You’re absolutely right, it is. However, like the sun, our shine has to go in bidding for it to truly stand out, and be noticed, or appreciated. For a while now, gratitude has eluded me. So focused on my flaws and trauma related downfalls, thankfulness has been out of sight, veiled by self-pity, selfishness, a low sense of self-worth, etc. In a year like none other, full of ongoing trials for almost everyone, maybe this is what it took. A year of vision.

& So the Journey Began
It's October 2017, there I am, sitting with my doctor for the umpteenth time this year telling him I don't feel well. I feel sick all the time, I have no energy, I have no interest in things anymore. Everything is a goddam effort doc, I say. Do you think I am deficient in something? Iron, Vitamins? I heard how you can feel pretty crappy if you are deficient in things.

Lessons Learned from the Coronavirus
I have been alive for 65 years, and I have never seen the world in such a tumbled heap. But, then I remember the stories my mother and father used to tell me about the great depression. They lived through several wars, and watched the world change from a horse and buggy lamp lit civilization to a technologically advanced arena in a hundred short years.

I am Thankful for the Little Things
2020 has been a difficult year. If there is anything that I am thankful for this year it is family and the little things in life. Life is not always about having the opportunity to go on big adventures, having a dream job, or getting into your top school. Sometimes the best memories are getting together with your family on the porch and sharing a laugh.

THE REASON WHY I AM SO THANKFUL THIS YEAR
I can think of a lot of reasons one would be thankful for, but mine is a situation I am very grateful and thankful for. Many people are thankful for other things but I am not I am thankful for three things in my life. I am a senior and six years ago I went thru a divorce. I was living in a Mobile Home all paid for but my husband at the time decided to have a home built. We had the home built and moved into the nice Ranch Home. I thought we would have been married for a long time. We were married for twenty-two years when my husband wanted a divorce. So I divorced him and managed to keep a nice home. I was able to get the mortgage into my name because I had good credit. Now I live with my Toy Poodle, and my cat, I have a mortgage to pay every month. I am glad I have the money to pay the mortgage every month.

Being Grateful In the Holidays. Top Story - November 2020.
The Holidays are here again, and I feel totally Scrooged over. From my West Texas apartment, there's not a snowflake in sight, it's not even sweater weather, and no present is expected to be coming in or going out of the premises. That's okay though, I've got gratitude.
