What do you think of when you hear the word “fitness”? It conjures images of that time they ran three miles after work for many people. They may also remember when they first learned to squat and deadlift compound lifts. “fitness” is often closely associated with physical activity and weight loss.

But there’s a difference between wellness and fitness: wellness is about your mental health, and fitness is about physical health. Read on to learn more about the difference between these two words.

1. What is Wellness?

Wellness is your overall health. It’s about your mental and physical health, not just physical health. According to the American Psychological Association, wellness is five factors mental health, physical health, moral health, and social health. Spiritual Health Wellness is about having a healthy lifestyle that promotes balance between the mind and body. It’s about improving all five areas of wellness to achieve the most optimal state of being.

That means taking care of your mental health, by making sure you are happy, fulfilled, and feeling good. It also means taking care of your physical health by engaging in regular exercise and eating a healthy diet. Research suggests that people who have a more nutritious diet tend to be more healthy overall.

2. What is Fitness?

Fitness is about physical health. It’s about staying in shape and getting strong. Fitness is about being physically fit. It’s about improving your strength, endurance, and flexibility. This can be done through exercise or weight training. It can also be done through other activities such as yoga, tai chi, or Pilates.

Fitness is also about maintaining a healthy weight by making sure you eat a balanced diet and avoid unhealthy food options like fast food, and processed foods high in sodium, sugar, and fat. However, it’s important to remember that fitness doesn’t just mean having a good physique. It’s all about having a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise, eating a healthy diet, and getting enough sleep.

Conclusion

Wellness and fitness are two different things. Wellness is about your overall health, and fitness is about physical health. However, fitness doesn’t mean you have to look a certain way, or you have to be skinny. It’s all about having a healthy lifestyle that promotes a sense of balance between the mind and body.

ABOUT BRIAN FREEMAN AUSTRALIA

Brian Freeman is often regarded as one Australia’s finest adventurers, and with good reason. He is one of Australia’s most accomplished adventurers in recent decades and unquestionably one of the world’s top adventurers of the moment. As a standard, most endurance athletes, and adventurers, have traditionally specialized in one discipline, such as high altitude mountain climbing, long-distance kayaking, desert and jungle running, survival experiences, or endurance swimming. Brian Freeman stands out as someone who has achieved them all. He has excelled in every discipline he has ever attempted.

Brian holds several world records and “firsts” in adventure endurance events. Some examples include being the only person to walk, run and kayak to and from Australia’s four cardinal extremes (north to south and east to west); crossing Australia’s Simpson Desert on foot twice; crossing the Kokoda Trail 59 times, including the record for the fastest ever crossing and walking from Australia’s easternmost point to its westernmost point, a total distance of almost 5500 kilometers; swimming the famed Melbourne RIP; and being the sole person to run from Australia’s northernmost point to its southernmost point, in between kayaking Bass Strait, a trip that took 85 days and covered almost 6000 kilometers.

Brian Freeman Australia is the only person to have conquered this journey, and the four cardinal extremes of Australia, under full human power. Amongst climbing other high altitude mountains of the world, he is also a summiteer on Mount Everest.
