Overcoming Insomnia
I know I lot of people suffer from Insomnia. I'm one of them. Started when I was younger, I think I was about eight or nine. I found myself not being able to sleep, and when I did it I would only sleep for about three to four hours. I never understood why until I got older. I tried keeping a fan on at night, having the TV on, putting on a movie, even tried reading a book I didn't enjoy. But I kept finding myself not getting a full night sleep.
Michelle HillPublished 6 years ago in LongevityHow to Influence Neuroplasticity
Neuroplasticity Our nervous system is a malleable vehicle. Physiology overall is sensitive to genetic abnormalities. DNA base changes can have devastating consequences such as multiple sclerosis or other debilitating pathologies. Outside of the significant but minority cases which inhibit this severely, the body is overall a malleable structure. This is determined by the work you do or how your nervous system is used. A simple example: if you sit excessively you can develop a hunched over posture. This is a change in the magnitude of nervous energy to certain muscle groups in your musculoskeletal system. Learning a language or how to code causes many neuronal connections to be made in the correlated brain region. Both of these phenomena make up what's called neuroplasticity.
Theo ZoddaPublished 6 years ago in LongevityHow to Stop Smoking in 7 Days
Ok, you already know the health risks associated with smoking. Even my six-year-old knows it's bad for you; you definitely should. So I am not going to lecture you about the risks, that's why there are loads of Government funded campaigns! I will say this: it really isn't difficult to stop smoking. I say "stop" rather than "give up" for a reason. "Give up" means you might not really want to stop. And you do, don't you?
How To Survive Tonsillectomy
A tonsillectomy is a major surgery that is done to remove the tonsils. This surgery is done for many reasons, but it is usually completed for two main reasons, although there are reasons other than the main two. These are due to constant infection, and for sleep apnea that disrupts sleep patterns. I know someone who had theirs removed due to a growth on one their tonsils, causing them to remove both tonsils.
Nicole TyePublished 6 years ago in LongevityHow to Flavor Kombucha
The kombucha tea craze has been sweeping the nation this decade, and it's not hard to figure out why. There are many reasons why kombucha is good for you, including being good for your heart, having anti-inflammatory properties, and giving you energy. If you're wondering how to flavor kombucha though, you probably already know all this. What you are desperately trying to figure out though, is how to make that vinegary taste a little more tolerable. I know I can't stand plain kombucha, no matter how good it is for me, so I need to add some yummy fruits and herbs to make it not only tolerable, but maybe even good if I get lucky!

Sapphira S.Published 6 years ago in LongevityHow To Start Running
Running sucks. I get it. If you are anything like me you were that kid that hated gym. I remember faking being sick, skipping class, or just complaining constantly to my friends. In fact, the only test I ever failed in my life was a written gym test. About the rules of tennis. Yes. I had to write a test in gym on TENNIS. Ugh.
Keri McCaffreyPublished 6 years ago in LongevityEating Well on a Budget
Unless you're well off financially, you check prices of food at the grocery store and possibly buy store brands. I do this very thing. Buying good food at a good price can be hard, and getting a good meal at a reasonable price at a restaurant can be even more difficult. But there are some tips to keep in mind if you're new to food budgeting. I am going on 4 years. Unfortunately, I didn't have help, so I had to learn on my own. But now I can turn around and hopefully help someone else. At the end of this blog post, there are a couple links you can click and read the articles.
