Dreaded heat that makes your blood boil. Hot days where you just want to live in a pool. In the state of the world where everyone is isolated by many & shelter inside, our everyday routine is altered. Rushing for air we walk along the streets to see what would seem normal but the aftermath of what is still dormant. Feeling so slow & sluggish it is difficult to not just find the motivation to work out & be active but the find the confidence & thrive to keep going.

It’s easy to fall under old habits. Sleeping in, eating whatever you can get your hands on and definitely cutting back on exercise. With gyms closed & classes taking an online approach, home workouts has become the norm. Staying active and healthy has been much more of a means to keep your body at bay.

Nowadays going for a run or doing a dance inspired workout helps to get your cardio in. Its more easier to do workouts in your home for safety & less exposure. With the current state of the world, if you are not working out you are in your house trying to keep yourself sane. In times where being inside is your top priority for safety, being active & healthy is a lot more difficult to manage if you are not already in the routine to do so.

Video games are great distractions from the world around you. They stimulate the brain & exercise your ability to problem solve & think on your feet. Video games vary to anyone at any age & with a wide range of genres, gaming is a way of life.

Mental Health plays a big part in these trying times because when you are in such isolation, things can feel overwhelmingly constricting. Whether you are an introvert or extrovert, staying active & healthy in a time where everything is limited, can become coveted. Doing things like writing in a journal or going for a walk can really help put your mind at ease. In the year 2020 mental health has been more of a public priority & it’s important to do things to help keep yourself healthy & sane. This can also provide an opportunity to find something new about yourself.

Having time to yourself mentally becomes so much more important when most or all of your days are with people whether its physically or digitally. Your mental being is important & finding new practices to center yourself can provide great benefit. Typically a professional like a therapist or a personal trainer is there to exercise your well being so you can grow into your best self. While some has access, others dont & thus venture to find other things that helps.

Sometimes running & doing physical activities alone or through social distancing isn’t enough or readily accessible. Other ways to be active & healthy is through hobbies. From gaming to redecorating physical activity and mental training is part of staying active & healthy. Learning a new skill or strengthening the one you already have is one of many ways to build that mental aptitude. Puzzles have been something that majority have been resulting to due to its ease of access & patience that required.

Its important to stay active & healthy because it helps with your mental health & stability in maintaining the realities that we live in. In moments where there’s a lot of negativity, we are given opportunities to focus on ourselves in ways that we may not be use to. By focusing on the things we can control, we give ourselves the ability to practice safety (physically and mentally). We learn to cherish things & those we hold dear & develop new practices to help guide us to a better future.
