Have you ever sat down and thought on some society lifestyle it expects us to follow? Do you feel imprisoned by these society problems on what you should do? In this article am going to break down on some of the society expectations colonizing everyone.

Over the years, society has become more biased and demanding. People are given expectations that make them feel worthless if they don’t meet them. People in the process die mentally and spiritually early before their actual death. They condemn themselves to mentally self-made prisons which end up messing their lives. The following are 5 lies we believe to our graves.

I)Your happiness comes from other people.

This is an absurd thought to believe that you cannot find your own happiness. Relying on other people for happiness will in fact leave you more hurt and disappointed. People are good but the true happiness comes from within. Being alone also helps you to understand yourself better, utilizing your imagination to more lovely scenes that create your own happiness. Society meaning of happiness leaves you more depressed and confused in the long run. Embrace life liberty and the pursuit of happiness based on your inner self feeling.

II)Your followers on social media make you more valuable.

A person who measures their worth by the number of followers on social media is truly a lost fellow. Technological society has brainwashed us to believe our worth as human beings is equivalent to the social media followers. Everyone was born complete without validation from anyone. The thought of seeking validation should be erased from anyone’s mind and start focusing on ways of improving yourself rather than basking on the glory of fake followers on social media.

III)You should get married at a certain age.

This is also another lie which has landed people into more problems than they ever wished for. The high rate of divorce shows you that marriage isn’t something to rush for. Marrying should be based on how mentally mature one is and not how old you are. People end up regretting having wasted years with the wrong person, being sued for child support and emotional damage among other consequences. Society awards you with pressure to do what you haven't planned for.

IV)The government is there to help you.

People need to wake up and expect nothing from the government. Everyone needs to work hard and drop the notion that the government will magically help you achieve your goals. It’s good to be patriotic to your country but do it with an open mind not expecting rewards from the government.

V)Your education level determines your future.

Many innocent people have been brainwashed to believe that their level of education will determine their entire future. Some hold on to some remarks made by their teachers that they will never amount into anything. Society definition of good future is a person holding several certificates of things you do not even like. Surprisingly you hold the power to turn the tables and do whatever you can dream of. Do not let the opinion of others rule your life and hold you captive.

In conclusion, everybody needs to wake up from this captured state of mind and start challenging the society bar set to diminish and make us feel imprisoned. No life coach will fix all these problems if you are not willing to abandon outdated thinking. Society gives us useless life quotes to lock up our potential to live an abundant life.
