The foods you eat and even the way you sleep can add years to your face and shorten your life. If your list of daily activities seems to be endless, you should know that stress caused by the fast pace of life can harm your body.

People think that multitasking is a positive phenomenon, but in fact, you can't do anything, you just get more stressed, the doctors warn. Several studies show that chronic stress triggers the release of free radicals, unstable molecules that destroy cells and lead to aging. This is why doctors suggest that you focus on one task, and only move on to the next.

Daily habits that make you age faster:

Rarely do you avoid dessert - over-consumption of sweets adds not only extra pounds but also years to your face. This is because the sugar molecules that enter the body stick to the protein fibers, depositing in the cells. This destructive process, called "glycation", can cause inflammation of the face, loss of skin luster and tone, enlargement of pores, the appearance of wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes. Avoid excessive consumption of sweets if you do not want to look old too soon.

You are used to sleeping less than 5 hours a night - doctors say that insufficient sleep not only causes dark circles under the eyes, it also shortens the life span. It is best to sleep about 7 hours a night. You should go to bed early if you have symptoms of insomnia, such as lack of energy during the day, mental sluggishness, problems with concentration and attention, or weight gain.

You love to watch a lot of tvs - it's normal to watch a movie or series from time to time, but not to sit in front of the TV day and night. In a study conducted by the British Journal of Sports Medicine, which involved nearly 11,000 Australians over the age of 25, researchers found that every hour spent watching TV shortened an adult's life expectancy by 22 minutes. Moreover, people who watched TV on average 6 hours a day lived 5 years less than those who did not watch it. Doctors explain that this habit is more about lack of exercise and an inactive lifestyle than watching the TV itself.

If you sit for more than 30 minutes, your body will start to build up sugar in your cells, which will more than likely cause you to gain weight. Whether you're watching TV or sitting at the table, take a break every 30 minutes and do some exercise.

You spend most of your time sitting in a chair - the negative effects of a sedentary lifestyle are well documented: people who spend time sitting in a chair have an increased risk of developing kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and, of course, obesity.

According to a study by the British Journal of Sports Medicine, playing sports regularly helps prevent these health problems and prolong life. Study participants who did more than 150 minutes of exercise a week lived 10–13 years longer than inactive people.

Do not use eye cream - even a regular skincare routine should include applying a good eye cream to prevent wrinkles. The skin around the eyes is thinner than the rest of the face and therefore ages faster, says Dr. Stuart. Keeping your eye area hydrated can erase years from your face.

The best eye creams contain retinol, a form of vitamin A, doctors say. Other important factors include emollients and moisturizers that allow antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin C to penetrate the skin. They help form collagen and elastin, which stretch the skin and help reduce wrinkles around the eyes.

Apply sunscreen only when you go on vacation - whether you go for a walk or shopping, if you don't apply sunscreen, the sun's rays can affect your skin even more than if you spend a whole day at the beach, doctors say. The leading cause of almost all signs of premature aging is exposure to ultraviolet light.

They are present even when it is cloudy or rainy. That's why you protect your skin by applying sunscreen every time you go out. Doctors recommend a cream with a protection factor of 30–50 for daily use.

You use too much makeup - leave your metallic blue eyeshadow aside because excessive makeup can make you look less obvious. Continuously applying excessive makeup, and especially the use of oil-based products can block the pores of the skin, causing rashes.

In addition, excessive use of fragrant products, which contain irritating chemicals and alcohol, can dry out the skin by removing its natural oils, which causes premature wrinkles.

Sleeping on your pillow - sleeping on your stomach or with a part of your face on your pillow can cause wrinkles and accelerated aging. With age, the connective tissue and collagen in the skin become weaker. If you sleep every night on the same side of your face, your skin will not recover as quickly as in its youth, warn dermatologists.

Wrinkled lines after sleep can become permanent. Therefore, try sleeping on your back or invest in a satin pillow to keep your skin smooth.

You keep the temperature too high in the house - when it snows and blizzards outside, it should be as warm as possible in the house. Whether you make the fire or start the boiler, by both methods, the moisture in the air evaporates.

As a result of this phenomenon, the skin may become dry and inflamed, and over time, the signs of aging are more visible. Invest in a humidifier that will counteract dry air (the optimum humidity level is 46–60%) and will not let the skin suffer from itching, scratches, and peeling. As an alternative, doctors recommend putting a damp towel on the radiator or a bowl of cold water in the room, thus regaining the evaporated moisture.

Eat straw drinks - Eating straw-colored drinks can prevent stains on your teeth, but by constantly wrinkling your eyes and pursing your lips, you can increase the appearance of wrinkles around them. The same thing applies to smoking. Do not consume straw-bottled beverages, but rather pour them into a glass if you want to avoid premature aging.

Give up all the fats in your diet - some fats are needed to keep you young, say, doctors. Omega 3 fatty acids found in fatty fish (such as salmon and mackerel) or some types of nuts (such as walnuts or flax seeds) are good for the heart and keep the skin supple, preventing wrinkles and stimulating the brain. and the heart. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommends eating fish at least twice a week.

Hunchback - If you're hunched over in front of your computer for hours, your spine may be unattractive and potentially harmful. The spine has a well-balanced curve in the shape of the letter "S" to support our posture.

Poor posture or hump deviates the spine from its normal position and, as a result, the muscles, discs, and bones are subjected to pressure. This is usually followed by pain, fatigue, and a probable degeneration or permanent deformity of the spine.

Try to maintain a correct posture by checking the position of your ear, shoulder, and hip during the day - they should form a straight line when sitting.
