The Environmental Impact of Your Household Products
Quarantine has been a challenging time for all of us. It's been an unprecedented time where we had no choice but to spend a lot more time at home, something that many of us are still trying to adjust to and navigate. While it might’ve seemed a bit scary at first, I ended up taking this as an opportunity to reflect and work on my personal growth, take care of myself, and learn more about the things I truly care about. By spending a lot more time at home, I started to notice a lot of things that might’ve slipped my mind in different times. I became very aware that now more than ever, it is vital that humans take care of themselves and the planet through whatever means possible.
Bianca VallePublished 4 years ago in Lifehack Be aware of your surroundings…
Be aware of your surroundings… I have grown up in New York City which has made me hyper aware of my surroundings. It is so important to always have a safety plan wherever you are going out. Whether it is a walk around the neighborhood, a night out, or even going to get groceries, you can NEVER be too prepared. Being safe means that you are being smart, making sure that if there is a time where you need to protect yourself that you know how.

Culinary herbs are essential to creating tasty homemade food. I add fresh basil leaves to my tomato sauce every time I can. Rosemary goes with roasted meat, parsley on the potato salad, origanum on the pizza, and mint…that goes in my mojito!

How to Cut Through The Noise and Actually Choose the Right Mattress For You
Nowadays, it seems like we’re buying everything and anything online. From groceries to home decor to makeup, I’m definitely no stranger to online shopping. I pretty much get a package everyday because nothing makes me happier than skipping an uncertain parking situation, searching for the exact item I’m looking for and then, of course, waiting in line. And sure, it’s easy to click and add to cart a new lipstick, but what about those BIG purchases? Say, a new mattress? After all, we spend a third of our lives on our mattress, making it pretty much one of the most important purchases we can make.
Alana HosnPublished 4 years ago in Lifehack Using the Power of Tik Tok to Reunite a Child with a Toy
It was a normal Friday as I sat in my talk radio studio in Kewanee, Illinois. I was working on a news broadcast when I looked out my window and saw Floppy. My radio station, WKEI Am 1450 in Kewanee, Illinois, sits on the Corner of one of the busiest intersections in our town. Across the street, I saw a stuffed rabbit lying on the ground and my heart broke for a moment before I leapt up, ran to the door, dodged into traffic and grabbed the stuffed bunny several feet before a Fed Ex truck was going to unknowingly run over it.

Ghezal AmiriPublished 4 years ago in LifehackBreaking Down Composting Myths
A love story: A sustainable person, a bucket of dirt, and food waste. Composting can seem scary, dirty, and smelly. However, it's actually fun and easy! This is from a person who just recently started composting a few months ago. I'm not a pro, but the good news is you don't have to be. Composting can be done even if you're the type of person that can't keep houseplants alive.
Angelica PasqualiPublished 4 years ago in LifehackYou can use a nut to clean your laundry? That's Nuts!
Allow me to introduce you to nature's tide pod, the soap nut! *Soap nut takes a bow* *The crowd goes wild* It's true, you can use a nut to clean your laundry. Regular laundry detergent has a few negative environmental impacts that come with it. The chemicals used to clean your clothes end up in bodies of water, where they can create algal blooms that harm the fish and other water dwellers. They also come packaged in plastic, and we should all be trying to cut down on that! Tide pods are super convenient, but they're a single-use plastic, and that plastic ends up in a landfill or in the water like the rest of our laundry detergent.
