dating
All about dating. First dates, three years into a relationship, Tinder, and more.
Sugar Babies/ Daddies/ Mommies
So for those who do not know what a sugar daddy, mama, or baby is, it's very simple. A sugar daddy or mama gives gifts and money to their sugar baby. A sugar baby is someone who spends time with an older person for companionship, money, and gifts. A sugar baby can do anything with their sugar daddy or mama during their time together. It doesn't always have to involve sex, but a lot of arrangements do. If all the arrangement involves is just sex, that's where the line gets blurred or crossed for most people when it comes to sugar baby and prostitute. The difference between prostitute and sugar baby is prostitutes only offer sex and the baby can offer a lot more than that. Any daddy who came my way only wanting sex was told to get a prostitute.

Relationships or Dynamics
A dynamic and a relationship are similar things. Dynamics are sometimes a type of relationship. The difference between a relationship and a dynamic is that a relationship includes more than just sex and dynamics may only be about sex. Dynamics don't always have to involve sex though. I consider stuff like play buddies or friends with benefits to be under the dynamic umbrella, whereas a dom/sub situation can be considered a relationship or a dynamic. A relationship is where you date and spend time with someone, whereas a dynamic can be more about sex or other stuff. Sugar baby and sugar daddy relationships are more dynamics in my opinion.

Dating Older
I sometimes date men who were 10+ years older than me. My ex-fiancé actually told me that his dating age range was four years older or younger, but when I messaged him, he threw it out of the window. He was really surprised by me, but he was also happy that he loosened up his age guidelines. He was only 7 years older than me. I don't know if I will end up in an age gap relationship, but I would be open to it.

Sleeping with Someone on the First Date
I'm not a prude by any means, I promise. I just want to help my readers through dating and kink. There are people who are not interested in relationships and that's fine, keep doing your thing. If you are sleeping around, be smart and protect yourself, although that maybe a no duh to most people. The thing about it is that, if you are looking for a relationship, sleeping with someone on the first date could hurt that. I had a guy friend who slept with a girl on the first date. After he drove her home, he regretted it because she said something that offended or scared him and she was overwhelming to him. So he regretted it and she felt used. If you don't want to feel that way, why do it? You're a grown ass woman, tell the guy no. If you do sleep with him and he makes you feel used, the person you really should blame is yourself. You could have said no and avoided all of that. Not sleeping with someone on the first date is the only way to save yourself from hurt feelings and other issues. Sex complicates things sometimes and it may get in the way of getting to know someone.

Staying Together Post University
The time has come, you are leaving your university bubble and entering the big wide world. Along with the fears of how long it will take before you get your first big time job or moving back in with mom and dad, you also now must consider where your relationship is heading.

This Life: Unwrapping to Get Whole
Where to start? There's so much to unwrap when you're black, single, haven't reached the level of success you thought you'd have reached by 60, you're struggling to fit in, to be accepted, and all you get are more obstacles, more character-building events. What do you do? The obvious answer is to keep going, count your blessings, and practice gratitude and a host of other things to remain grounded and able to navigate life—you know, therapy. And, of course, it is easier said than done. As my friend would say, "The only way out is the way through," as in, you have to work through things by addressing them. Well, in my mind, I've thought, No one cares, or wants to hear your tales of woe, and, If anyone hears my stories, or sees the real me (damaged goods by way of abuse—both through physical/verbal, as well as sexual assault), they won't like me, whoever "they" might be. All my life, I'd never understood what being vulnerable meant. I've learned, but very late—as in, only very recently. I've never really been able to be confident that what I might share wouldn't be ridiculed, or not be considered worthy in some way.
