Relationship is the connection between two or people or things. It's the state of being connected which varies amongst individuals depending on the bond or interest.

Healthy relationships are characterized by mutual respect, trust, effective communication, shared values and a balance of individuality and togetherness. These relationships promote emotional well-being, love, growth, peace, positivity and a sense of security for both individuals involved. Here are some key aspects of healthy relationships:

Emotional support: Healthy relationships provide emotional support and understanding. Partners share their problems and help each other through difficult phases, times and situations. They are there to for each other in good and bad challenges, offering empathy, solutions, encouragement and a safe space to share feelings.

Effective communication: Communication is one of the most important factors for a healthy relationship. Being open and honest communication is essential. Partners should listen attentively to their partner, express themselves clearly, and strive to understand each other's perspectives and needs. They address conflicts constructively, without resorting to blame or defensiveness.

Shared joy and laughter: Healthy relationships are characterized by shared moments of laughter, emotions and fun times. Partners enjoy each other's company, engage in activities together, and create memories.

Trust: Trust is the foundation of any healthy relationship. Both partners have faith in each other’s honesty, reliability and intentions. Trust is built soley on honesty and sincerity and this can be built through open communication and consistent action that shows trustworthiness.

Shared values: Partners tend to share core values and goals thereby creating a strong and solid foundation for the relationship. They have compatible beliefs and aspirations, which helps them navigate life's challenges together.

Respect: Both partners values respect each other's opinions, boundaries, and individuality. They treat each other with kindness and consideration.

Equality: A healthy relationship is based on equality. The ability to understand that you are both equal in the relationship, and you should both be fully involved in the decision making and also have an equal say.This includes carrying out of responsibilities.

Emotional intimacy: Emotional intimacy involves deep trust, vulnerability, and the ability to share one's innermost thoughts and feelings. Partners in a healthy relationship feel safe and supported when expressing their emotions.

Individuality and Independence: They should both maintain their individual identity and personal interests, allowing space for personal growth and self expression.Healthy relationships recognize and respect the need of the individuality within the patnership.

Conflict resolution: Disagreements are inevitable in any relationship, but healthy couples resolve conflicts in respectful and constructive manner. They listen to each other's perspectives, seek, compromise, and work towards finding a solution that satisfies both parties.

Emotional intimacy: This involves vulnerability and the ability to share ones innermost thoughts and feelings. Paterners in a healthy relationship feel safe and supported when expressing their emotions.

No relationship is perfect and it takes effort from both partners to maintain a healthy and fulfilling relationship. Effective communication goes a long way in improving the bond and growth of a relationship. Empathy and commitment to growth and mutual well-being are vital components of a healthy relationship.Most times we lose a relationship or partner because we failed to imbibe the vital points necessary for it to work. A healthy relationship involves two people, it should never be left for one party alone. Sometimes we make the mistake of not listening to our partner when they have their opinion, remember you are not compelled to accept every opinion as you have yours as well but, it goes along way to bring resolution. A healthy relationship should bring out the best version of you and your partner. Your partner should be your safe space.
