Dates Gone Wrong
I have been on many dates in my day. At only 24 I cant even remember all the people I have met; in-person or online and they just do not go as planned. See I would say "guys are annoying" but guys say "girls make no sense" so really its a double-edged sword. But somtimes I actually really enjoy texting with someone, but then I meet them and its just strange. And there are other times where you think its going really well, but never hear from them again.

So this happened a while back, but it's still my best story to tell in case I need to explain how bad dating has been for me. So I suppose I'll tell it, again, and see what you think.
There's a Spider on Your Face!
I have a very long history of online dating, so it's no surprise I have so many weird stories to tell. I'm only 29 and by the age of 25, I had 7 years of online dating experiences. Each one brought a new "interesting" twist and most were only ever a first date. I'm sure once you have finished reading this, it will be no mystery as to why. But I should add, this is mild compared to others.

It was the summer after high school, where this story takes place. A small town just outside a city that was topping the charts for heroin abuse. I was 18-years-old and freshly out of the worst relationship of my life. After months of gas-lighting, emotional manipulation, suicide threats, all wrapped up in a bag of cheating, I was free. My mental health was soaring in comparison to how it'd been, and so when my friend's (Jana and Jacob) asked me if I wanted to go out to eat with them and catch a movie, I happily agreed. It wasn't until I was already in the car with them that they casually mentioned my ex was coming along.
My First (and Worst) Date
I had my first real date when I was 15. It was the first time that my dad had let me go out with a boy (granted, I never actually asked him up until this point). So how did this day that was supposed to be a memory I will remember forever turn into a complete disaster? Let's just dive right in.
Second Dates Aren't Always That Great
This is the story of my worst date, which oddly enough, was my second date with Cece. It all started on a weekend I was home visiting my parents. I decided to open up Tinder and see if I could find anyone interesting on the app since I was in a different place. Cece popped up on my screen and after looking through her profile, I decided I'd swipe right. It was a match instantaneously. Now, I can't recall who messaged who first, but we seemed to hit it off right away to the point that she wanted to hang out with me the next day. I usually wouldn't go on a date with someone I had been talking to for one day, but I was trying to do things that scare me, why? I still don't know.
My Worst Date
In this era of love and romance, some individuals often wonder if chivalry still exists when it comes to dating. But despite the circumstances of a date, chivalrous behavior can still be seen in people of different generations. This is the kind of behavior that can contribute to a good date. But, if there’s lack of it shown on a date, the results are disappointing for anyone expecting it. I don’t believe that too many women expect their significant other to open the car doors for them when they are getting in or out of the car. Still, it’s nice to see a person make an attempt at a chivalrous gesture.

Okay, so this guy I had known for many years named Jake asked me if I wanted to go get lunch with him. I thought to myself, Yay, free food with my friend! So, of course I agreed to go. I mean, who with a working brain declines free food?

Over the years, I have listened to my friends tell me the funny, and not so funny stories about people they have dated. I hoped never to be able to relate; unfortunately, things don’t always work out as planned, so here we are. Brace yourself, as I share with you the worst date of my life! Meeting people online is not as taboo as it once was. More often, couples are finding each other online, and I am no exception. Being in my late thirties, going out has become obsolete, so the internet (although it has a sense of humor) has become my best friend.

When you have recently become single, meeting people is difficult, especially those of us with RBF (resting bitch face). I personally do not go out by myself to many adult places such as bars or clubs, which makes meeting people that much harder. I am also a little bit of a... strong-willed female that believes in exploring my body with others.

Growing up I wanted three things in life: get married, have lots of kids, and fight against injustice. But there I was, barely thirty, divorced, and a single parent working from paycheck to paycheck. I am not going to lie, it was a real struggle trying to raise two kids on my own, so love was the farthest thing from my mind. I didn't want it, I didn't need it, and I certainly didn't anticipate it. Above all, after barely making it out of a toxic relationship, I didn't feel I was in the mental space and emotionally capable of entering into a new relationship. Despite that, I still felt very lonely at times and on occasions gave my telephone number out to potential suitors.

(Tuesday evening) The rain continues to pour immensely from the grey heavens... almost as if the angels were reminding me that going to this so-called 'date', was a bad idea. I ignored them despite the continuation of the rumbling thunder, which made my heart jump and that did not help at all. I finally arrived at the Fire Bird Restaurant...
