Samantha had been blind since birth. She was always known as the quiet girl who kept to herself, and most of her classmates barely knew she existed. But all of that changed when she met her sighted guide, Emily.

Emily had just started high school and was looking for a way to make a difference. When she heard about the sighted guide program, she knew that was her calling. She signed up for the program, and soon, she was paired with Samantha.

At first, Samantha was hesitant. She had never had a sighted guide before, and she didn't know what to expect. But Emily quickly put her at ease. She was warm and friendly, and she had a way of making Samantha feel like she was just like any other student.

As the weeks went on, Emily and Samantha's bond grew stronger. They would spend hours together, talking about everything from school to their favorite TV shows. Emily would describe everything around them in detail, and Samantha would listen, soaking in every word.

Emily became Samantha's eyes, guiding her through the halls of the school and helping her navigate her way to class. She would read out loud to her in class and describe the images in textbooks. She even helped Samantha learn to read braille. She also used to provide best support in her lab practical. She proactively used to contact her teachers to ensure that they had taken print outs for her lab schedules in Arial 28 on A3 paper so that Samantha can easily perform practicals on her own and it may also boost interest in her studies.

But their friendship was more than just about school. Emily was there for Samantha during the tough times, too. When Samantha's grandmother passed away, Emily was there to comfort her. When Samantha was feeling down, Emily would come up with funny jokes and stories to lift her spirits.

As the school year came to a close, Samantha knew that she didn't want to let Emily go. She had become such an important part of her life that the thought of not having her there was too much to bear. She mustered up the courage to ask Emily if they could still be friends even after the program ended.

Emily's response was immediate. "Of course we can," she said. "I don't ever want to lose touch with you."

And they didn't. Emily and Samantha remained the closest of friends throughout high school and beyond. They would meet up for coffee and catch up on each other's lives. Emily would describe the world to Samantha, and Samantha would tell Emily about her dreams and aspirations.

Years later, Samantha was standing at the altar, getting ready to marry the love of her life. As she stood there, waiting for the ceremony to begin, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and saw Emily, standing there with tears in her eyes.

"I wouldn't have missed this for the world," Emily said, taking Samantha's hand. "You're my best friend, and I couldn't be prouder of you."

Samantha felt a surge of emotion wash over her. Emily had been with her every step of the way, guiding her through the ups and downs of life. She had been more than just a sighted guide; she had been a guide to her heart and soul.

As Samantha said her vows, she knew that Emily would always be by her side, guiding her through whatever challenges lay ahead. Their friendship had stood the test of time and proved that true bonds can form between anyone, regardless of their differences.
