…I regret not receiving as a youth.

Just hammering them out; if I may. Also, here’s to a potential hat-trick for my return from hiatus.

The following is an expansion of my brief comment to a social media post on an app/site that is at least ostensibly intended for community building amongst neighbors within a general vicinity. Fun fact: I had nearly forgotten that I had an account with the site/app just before I stumbled upon the post that was the impetus for this piece.

Immediately following my expounding, I’ll include my comment; with a redaction (to protect the innocent), and very light editing. Without further ado; and here’s to you, the reader–

1.) Seek mentorship from a worthy candidate. If he/she keeps their word; maintains their affairs with integrity/dignity; and/or exemplifies wisdom, what more can you ask for essentially?

2.) Pay yourself a tithe; always. If you take nothing else away from this…

Save no less than one penny from every single dime (one-tenth) that comes into your possession. A dime from every dollar; a dollar from every (Alexander) Hamilton, or “ten spot”; etc.

Once you have saved up enough to invest it wisely, do so with gusto. Then, completely break free from the hamster wheel life; and never look back (except to pay it forward).

3.) In addition to paying yourself faithfully, I strongly recommend that you pay “tribute”, for lack of a better term, as well as homage; respect; and give honor/glory to Something Greater than yourself. “Simple and plain.”

4.) If you can somehow realize that all sunshine doesn’t help you appreciate the beauty of the sun’s rays… An arguably major infeasibility notwithstanding, you’re more than halfway to understanding something that many people never fully appreciate (IMHO [In My Humble Opinion]).

Reminiscent of the adages about needing the lows to appreciate the highs. Joy for pain; and chocolate for water…

5.) Never stop learning; reading; and/or growing in wisdom. “If you’re not learning, you’re not growing; and everything that isn’t growing is dying.”– Ancient Proverb.

In addition, rumor has it that, “Not all readers are leaders. Though, almost all leaders…”

6.) There are a few different variations of S.M.A.R.T. goals. More importantly, choose your favorite version; stick to it; and constantly revisit your list(s).

Whether to add to the items on your goals list(s); cross them off; and/or reinvigorate your resolve to see them through. Don’t be without at least one list of 300 goals per year; of 3-5 per day; and/or six to half a dozen for each week.

7.) Gratitude is the highest form virtue; vibrational wave length; and/or the most vital attitude. Simply put, a five year plan and/or gratitude journal are incredulously underrated x-factors.

Thank me later. In conclusion, keep hope alive.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk. That is all.

Heyo, [Redacted]. Congrats on the job; remorseful to hear 'bout your situation; and kudos to you for seeking advice.

Seven key pointers that I wish someone had given me when I was 17 years old:

1.) Get a mentor who is trustworthy, reliable, and/or discerning.

2.) Save a minimum of 10% of every single dollar that comes into your life.

3.) Maintain a faith system of some sort.

4.) Learn from your losses.

5.) Read books (or listen to them).

6.) Write your S.M.A.R.T. goals down oft.

Last; but certainly not least, 7.) Never underestimate the wisdom of keeping a gratitude journal and/or a personal five year plan handy.

Praying that this helps. Peace; blessings; and one Love, my dear [Redacted].

Prayerfully, you gained something pertinent (re: useful) from this post. If so, then please think about considering a show of support; however you may see fit.

Additionally, I'm easily reachable via Twitter. That's for private and/or public convos on the works written by me, my fav writers, as well as my other influences too.

The link in my bio will "counterintuitively" have that unmistakable tab in its footer menu. Invariably, there's a tab in the very main menu; cyclically returning you to my profile on this unfathomably superb site for writers.

Shoutout to all Vocal's inventors/staff/readers/writers. "[Y'all] the real MVP."

Lastly, if you're in the market for an incredulously original article of clothing or such: There's copious amounts at the aforementioned link in bio. Please don't believe for a NY minute that I'll be even remotely unappreciative of any all who "look out for the cookout".

Peace; blessings; and much Love, even. *Salute*.
