Windchimes, Curtains and a Promise from the Grave.
March 21, 2014, is that day in my life that haunts me in my sleep and even at times when I'm seemingly wide awake. Accompanying my father to a follow up appointment for some tests, we find out he has terminal cancer. I was sitting across from him, I will never forget the look on his face. This is what I see in my sleep. I see it sometimes in odd moments when I'm fully awake. He was a large, stellar individual. 6'3, weighing over 300 pds, a sheet metal worker and life had not been easy on him. He commanded a room without having to do anything. Just his presence was a force to be felt. But in this moment, I witnessed this powerhouse of a human reduced to the similarity of a small boy that that missed his mother. His body slumped as he cried. Although he was doing his damnest to hold the tears back for my benefit. That's the kind of man and father he was, even in this moment he was trying to comfort his daughter and remain the strong force. His voice quivered as he asked " How long do I have?". The doctor would not give a definite answer, only saying there was little that could be done.

A Pleasant Surprise
When we think of having a paranormal experience, we normally think of something traumatic happening to the one who tells the story. As for me, I am one the opposite side of the spectrum. In February of 2017, I almost took my life, but before I could end myself, Hel, the Norse Goddess of the Underworld, exploded from nowhere and stopped me from a vain death. To this day, She still is a huge driving force in my life and I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Her choice to stop my suicide.

The Island Journal
Journal entry 1: Hello, if you are reading this today is day three of being lost at sea. I decided to start writing in this journal because honestly even though it has only been three days of not knowing where we are I have already begun to lose hope and I fear that we might not be found. So even if we can't be found hopefully at least this journal can be and our last moments can be recorded.

The Occasional Spooking of Bly Manor
There will be a spoiler warning when I begin talking about spoilers. You know what's funny? I really liked The Haunting Of Hill House, and yet I can't remember a thing about it. For all its hidden ghosties and ghoulies, its twists and turns and time jumps, and its spooky foreshadowing of The Red Room, I cannot remember a single thing about the plot.

May - A Movie Review
I love gross. Have you met May? She is the epitome of all gross things. May is a 2002 drama-horror about a socially awkward young woman with a lazy eye. May just wants to fit in with the world. Developing a crush on a man with perfect hands, May’s strange behavior ruins the relationship making her spiral into madness.

The Haunted Hospital
The old hospital on the hill had been a strange curiosity since we had moved to New Plymouth, just a year before. Built in the 1860's, to house and treat patients with typhus fever, and again when Spanish flu came to New Zealand in the early 1900's. The old nurses home had been built first. This glorious building lay forlorn and derelict, apparently due to not being earthquake proof, and being built with possible asbestos. It is still a protected building.

A Cambodian Ghost Story
Squilch. Munch. I stood in front of a tiny hut made of wooden panels and palm mats raised atop wooden stilts. The makeshift window to the hut’s left was made of the same material and propped open with a small stick, just a smidge. I looked at the door-less entrance and with the dim light of the waning moon, I was able to see a pair of calloused, dirty feet laying limply on the ground.

A Film Addict Reviews! Psycho
I have always been curious about film history and how it influenced the films of today. The films of yesteryears are always curious cause they start certain genres. For example, we have Jaws and Star Wars to thank for the blockbusters of today. Star Wars was influenced by Akira Kurosawa samurai films and Flash Gordon and now its massively popular. The films that inspire others to create are usually the most interesting due to the fact they were testing the new grounds of that genre and Psycho is no different.
