A Film Addict Reviews! Psycho
I have always been curious about film history and how it influenced the films of today. The films of yesteryears are always curious cause they start certain genres. For example, we have Jaws and Star Wars to thank for the blockbusters of today. Star Wars was influenced by Akira Kurosawa samurai films and Flash Gordon and now its massively popular. The films that inspire others to create are usually the most interesting due to the fact they were testing the new grounds of that genre and Psycho is no different.

A Film Addict Reviews! Corpse Bride
In the spirit of the current season, I’ve been trying to watch more of the Halloween type films. It is one of my favorite holidays and it sucks that I can’t celebrate the usual way I like to. My family and I would scare the entire neighborhood by turning our front yard into a bit of a haunted house. Some of our inspirations for decorations have come from Tim Burton films. So, I decided to give Corpse Bride another shot since its been a long while since I’ve seen it.

A Film Addict Reviews! Seven Samurai
I am an avid gamer. I’ve played the likes of Red Dead Redemption 2, Overwatch and most recently, Apex Legends. One game I have recently enjoyed a lot is Ghost of Tsushima. For those who don’t know or have ever played it, It is the story of a samurai, whose whole clan has been wiped out to the mongols. It is up to you, to save the island of Tsushima to save the mainland of Japan. I have had a lot of fun playing it and I’m genuinely excited for the new update that’s coming out this Friday. In honor of this update, I wanted to see one of the inspirations for the game. So, without further ado, I present to you Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai.

A Film Addict Reviews! Tag
Normally, I am against films about true stories. They just don’t interest me as film addict. I enjoy my action, adventure, comedy and science fiction films, particularly from the 80s. In this case though, I did not realize this film was used on a true story considering how silly of a concept it is. After seeing the trailer, I knew it would be great watching Ed Helms, Jeremy Renner, Jon Hamm, and Jake Johnson in a film together.

A Film Addict Reviews! Overlord
Now that we are quickly approaching Halloween, I figured that I should maybe celebrate it a little but watching a few Halloween favorites. I’m personal fan of Beetlejuice which is my go-to Halloween film. This year, I’m starting to branch out a little bit more and watch some more of the horror oriented ones and not so much comedic. One can never go wrong with watching the original Evil Dead or Army of Darkness but I have been wanting to watch Overlord since it first came out. I have finally seen it (obviously) and let me tell you what an adventure this was.

A Film Addict Reviews! Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters
It was towards the end of 2012, a big year for Marvel as they finished up phase one. Avengers was a smashing success in the box office and everyone wanted more. Some of the year passes by and suddenly a trailer for a little movie called Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters comes on. Little me thought, this movie looks cool. I want to see that. Hawkeye was great in the Avengers, least see what he can do without his super pals on the big screen. Man, was I excited to see it back then. I’ve thankfully had the chance to rewatch it recently and oh boy, I remembered it being much different.

A Film Addict Reviews! Baahubali 2: The Conclusion
I’ve never thought I would sucked into a film franchise like this one. Baahubali: The Beginning was way too good for its own sake that I needed to see how the sequel follows up on it. I needed to know what else it brought to the table. The case with sequels is that they usually do not match up to the first film and I was curious if that was the same with this film, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

A Film Addict Reviews! Baahubali: The Beginning
Over the past year, I’ve been trying to branch out my movie selection by drifting away from the western films I’ve grown up on and watch more of the eastern selection. I started out with some Hong Kong films and those were decent in themselves but I’ve never gone Bollywood until I saw a gif over men being catapulted off a palm tree, rolling up into a barrel and fall down completely unharmed. I knew right then and there, I needed to see whatever film this was and that’s how I found out about Baahubali!

A Film Addict Reviews! Molly’s Game
Films that are based on true stories could always be embellished due to how the studio wanting to dramatize it. Also, films like those are also missing some vital pieces are rush through things just for the sake of telling the story. Molly’s Game would probably benefit from one.

A Film Addict Reviews! Kick Ass
During the time when the Marvel Cinematic Universe was about to fully take off, superhero movies were the big money maker for studios. The issue is that R rated superhero movies don’t perform too well at the box office. Marvel tried it with a couple of their properties in the 90s and it didn’t pan out too well. This film tries to change that.

A Film Addict Reviews! The Babysitter
Horror movies aren’t usually my cup of tea. I don’t like the thrill of being scared but oddly enough I enjoy scaring people on Halloween. So when someone suggests that I watch a horror movie, I deny it. This is one of those cases where the film isn’t so much horror, it’s more comedic.
