'Promare' Review
To talk about Promare, the new anime film from Studio Trigger (makers of Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, etc.) I have to start at Anime NYC. I went to Anime NYC this year and Promare was everywhere, from cosplays to posters to fanarts. I actually cosplayed as Kamina from Gurren Lagann and had a few people call me Galo from Promare. Needless to say, I was a little interested to see it. I wasn’t totally sold though. Fast forward to the past few days: Promare was coming back in theaters, December 8th for the sub and December 10th for the dub. My friends were going to the subbed version, and when one couldn’t go last minute, the ticket practically fell into my lap. There I was, walking in blind to this movie with no sense of what I was about to witness.
Kyle and Summer Celebrate Jack’s Decision on 'The Young and the Restless'
Wednesday’s episode of The Young and the Restless may not air until Thursday due to the impeachment proceedings. When it is shown, viewers will see a significant shift in the “Skyle” relationship. Jack met his son at Society where Kyle offered him a proposition. He wanted to be co-CEO with his dad and named the official successor to his grandfather’s legacy. Kyle said if that did not happen he would look for work somewhere else. Jack told his son he had given him much to think about then got up from the table. He was about to walk away, when he went back over to his son and agreed to his terms. Lola and Mariah has been watching from a distance and came over to see what was going on.

It took barely a single episode for The Dragon Prince to capture my heart. I found the characters to be lovable and the plot gripping – and right from episode one you are drawn into a world of adventure, mystery and a little sorrow. The creators plan on having the show run for seven seasons, Netflix permitting, and so far they show no sign of slowing down. You could say that the scripts are writing themselves.
The One True GeekologyPublished 4 years ago in GeeksReview of 'His Dark Materials' 1.6
I'm not sure who the "His" is in His Dark Materials (I haven't read the books). I'm not even clear what the "Materials" are (the Dust? but I don't know yet exactly what that is, either). I do get the "Dark". And I also thought that last night's action-packed episode 1.6 moved preternaturally quickly.

Cheryl E PrestonPublished 4 years ago in GeeksMovies to Watch - December 2019
The Report With an excellent cast, brilliant cinematography and direction, The Report (2019) is one of the most underrated films of this year. Casting a wide net from the early days after 9/11 to the 2nd term of the Obama Administration, the film covers the work of Senate Intelligence Committee staffer Daniel Jones and his team’s tireless efforts to bring the scope of the CIA’s ‘enhanced interrogation techniques’ program into the public light. Focusing on not just the legality of the program but its effectiveness as well as its handlers, the film does a great job in bringing that story to a wider audience who may not have read the report or even heard about it. Part of the appeal of the film is that it creates a real sense of drama and real-world significance that often lacks in other Hollywood films about Washington. You really do sympathize with the characters and understand the weight that is on their shoulders handling a report of both national and international significance.
