Podcasting 4 Dummies
I'm one of those people who got told a fair bit as a kid that I was "funny", which was clearly very damaging, because here I am still thinking I'm hilarious enough to write these articles and get paid for it, or do my ridiculous rants on my instagram story that will somehow lead to a book deal. Yeah, the laughter and encouragement of my off-colour jokes and sarcasm has surely lead to a life of quiet, modest hobbies. Like a podcast where I read internet banter for a half hour and howl with laughter into the microphone as if I'm NOT sitting on my closet floor by myself.

Joseph AdjeiPublished 4 years ago in Geeks20 Books of 2020 (Pt.17)
I think you know by now that because of this lockdown, I've been doing far more reading than normal. This means that unfortunately, I'm reading books faster than I can write my articles. But, fortunately enough for me, I've got more time to write the articles - but less time to write them because I'm reading so quickly. I guess I had the same amount of time as before therefore. That's depressing.
Annie KapurPublished 4 years ago in GeeksImprisoned Twin
Warnings: swears, violence, prison r*pe The man had made it through parole after so many years within the walls of prison. Whilst hailing a taxi, he thought about everything that was officially behind him: violence, bigotry, actions done without his consent in order to survive, nothing that would make someone want to go to prison. So, why would he throw away a decade of his life? The simple reason is his brother committed murder and, fortunately (or unfortunately), they were twins, so he thought that going for him would be the right thing to do. On his way home, he wondered if he'd be forgotten about even after the various letters were exchanged between himself and his husband or any of their friends. He stared blankly out the window as his destination was getting closer. He hoped he hadn't changed too much and he hoped he was still loved.
Monique StarPublished 4 years ago in GeeksA Filmmaker's Guide to the Best Performances: Sir Charlie Chaplin
Charlie Chaplin was one of the greatest actors and directors of the 20th century, especially when it comes to comedy. I have multiple posters of Charlie Chaplin in my bedroom and even a statue of Chaplin somewhere in my house. I have multiple shirts and handbags with Chaplin on them and I am still looking for Chaplin merchandise because you can never have enough Chaplin. Chaplin was not only a great actor and director but he was also an incredibly handsome man, gaining a lot of attention from the women around him during his career and most definitely, I think he is very handsome. When it comes down to it, Charlie Chaplin is still one of the most important people in film history, creating the idea of slapstick comedy on film and pushing film into the future. As one of the greatest entertainers in human history, Chaplin has made many, many films - many of them incredible and legendary including: “City Lights” (1931) and “Modern Times” (1936) - which are also two of my favourites.

Leigh HooperPublished 4 years ago in GeeksThe Most Original Hardest Working Film Studio
Is it easy being original? That is the question all artists are presented with. The answer does not preclude you from pursuing a career in art, but your feeling about that answer does. If you feel it is hard to be original but you don't care and you can push on and be an artist anyway, then the life of art maybe for you. If you feel it is easy being original and impossible to fake who you are and you must pursue art, then you too may be destined for art. But what then about the current state of art, where trends and the popular techniques and topics are rewarded over originality? What become of those of us who still want to make our original art? Will we fade into nothing.

Q-ell BettonPublished 4 years ago in GeeksJumanji: The Next Level
As a child, the 1995 Jumanji was always a part of weekends with my Nana. It was the first action adventure movie I really remember that wasn’t gory or bloody and didn’t get too scary for my fraidy-cat self. Robin Williams kept it interesting and made jokes that broke up the intensity so it wasn’t too much for a child to take in all at once.
Mary KnutsonPublished 4 years ago in GeeksSomewhat Famous Belgians
What Belgium lacks in size (and, apparently, in famous people) it more than makes up for with other charms. And not to sound defensive, but it really is tiny — the size of Rhode Island. So before you judge, let’s see how many famous Rhode Islanders you can name…
