The M... PUNISHED.
An adventure happened under the Regency in Paris, extraordinary enough to still be told with interest today; it offers on the one hand a secret debauchery, and on the other hand, three dreadful murders, the author of which was never discovered. And, as to your conjectures before we begin, as to what caused the catastrophe, and whether or not it was deserved, we can hope to elucidate; perhaps then it will disturb our readers less.
The change in the Cosplay community
In 2007 when I got into this hobby, I was excited to enjoy a hobby that more then playing dress up, for the next ten years it would serve as something that helped me get out of my comfort zone, go to new places, make new friends, and become an important factor in keeping me busy through the rough times. But in the past years, I've noticed some dramatic changes to happen, that has made me retract from the community year by year. I still enjoy the costumes, and the transformation into a character, but the dramatics of the other individuals. I can't abide by it, nor endorse it. I've just continued to distance myself even though I miss the groups, and gatherings. I miss being able to ask a friend of mine what character they were going to dress up as for the convention weekend. Now I've not only grown apart from it, I've purposely limited my interactions and involvements. It's not just me that has noticed this, many individuals have experienced harsh toxicity in various cosplay groups. Why did a fun hobby turn hellish and more dramatic then a talk show? Now before I go on, an important disclaimer: this does not mean every cosplayer is toxic, heavens no. I personally know some amazing, humble, and kind people that are in the community that I am still close with. But there are some that have changed that I have witnessed first hand as well as some of my friends that have unfortunately experienced this change.

Joe HarrisPublished 4 years ago in GeeksTwilight Really Isn't That Bad
In 2008 something very normal and expected happened, a hoard of young girls quickly became obsessed with a small independent film based on a book series called Twilight. Then Something slightly weirder and unexpected happened, anybody who didn't love the movie absolutely hated it. Every movie critic every adult male, even every cynical young girl hated Twilight almost as much as the fans loved it. Slowly as the years went by and the young girls who once adored and idolized everything surrounding the movie started growing up and The Twilight Saga while still popular was understood to be an absolutely terrible series of films. Both the films and everyone involved in them were constantly joked about and made fun of, nobody took Kristen Stewart or Robert Pattinson seriously until both their respective endeavors in more serious independent films and any mention of Twilight, in general, was practically disgusting in serious circles. To this day none of the movies have a rotten tomato score over 50%. It’s clear that amongst clever or level headed people The Twilight Saga is just a product of its time, it started the young adult adaptation craze and it really paved the way for sexy vampires in the 21st century, but as far as artistic merit goes it's considered garbage. Clearly no one is willing to admit that The Twilight Saga is anything but an unwatchable mess, and it may be unpopular to say this but I will take the bullet and say Twilight is not as bad as everyone says it is.
Clara HigelPublished 4 years ago in GeeksScarlet Witch
We all know that I can talk about Scarlet Witch all day, everyday. I will never stop writing articles about how badass she is because people who refute me don’t actually read comic books, or know how to read at all who knows, so here is an even more in depth look at the growth of Scarlet Witch’s powers. The powers of the Scarlet Witch are often overlooked (or dismissed because she didn’t get what comic book nerds would consider overpowered until House of M), the reality is that she was always truly powerful her powers just weren’t clearly defined until closer to the 1980s.
Alexandrea CallaghanPublished 4 years ago in Geeks9 Great Podcasts That Have Nothing to Do with the News
I listen to a lot of podcasts. Many, if not most, are news- or politics-focussed, and these days they’re all about, y’know, that thing that’s currently consuming all of us. And, honestly, nobody knows all that much except it’s bad, it’s getting worse, we should wash our hands and stay the heck home and away from people, there is a lot to worry about, and, depending on where you live, the government’s response has been varying shades of terrible. Really, I don’t need a daily update on each of those, let alone several updates. But if I do, well, that’s what, say, the Washington Post is for.

There is nothing more satisfying in cinema than a clever, unexpected and preferably terrifying plot twist. When you have been misdirected through a whole story so well that you fully believe you know exactly what is going on, just for that idea to be shot to pieces when the real happenings are revealed, is one of the most satisfying cinematic experiences.
