The Influence of Eva Hesse
Eva Hesse is widely known for anti-form sculptures, but her other works are hardly known at all. In fact, she did not title many of her earlier works and most of them are sketches for works she never completed. The work she is best known for, the string sculptures and other anti-form works, were a direct result three-dimensional representation of her earlier untitled paintings and drawings. This connection was not purely on a formal level, but also on an ideological one. These drawings were influenced by her teachers, many of whom taught and made abstract expressionist work, and it was that expressionism which influenced the movement and creation of her work as much as, if not more than, the minimalist artwork that was also common at the time. This is continued further to explain how she took ideas from both movements, as well as neo-surrealism, to create her own style of artwork.

1. Grace and Frankie (series) Lily Tomlin (Frankie) and Jane Fonda (Grace) in "Grace and Frankie" Grace and Frankie is one of my favorite shows. It's a Netflix original that has just been renewed for Season 7, which will unfortunately be the show's final season. It is Netflix's longest-running original series to date. The series follows Grace, a retired CEO of succesful cosmetic brand, and Frankie, a hippie art teacher. Grace and Frankie's lives are turned upside down when their husbands Robert and Sol announce that they are in love with each other and are leaving their wives.

The Walking Dead pulled out all the stops for Danai Gurira's last (for awhile, at least) appearance as Michonne. As well as her discovery that Rick Grimes may still be alive, the episode features a hallucination sequence showing us how Michonne's life would have turned out differently had she not saved Andrea at the end of Season Two.

Let's be honest - the world is a bit of a scary place right now. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, people all over the world have been encouraged to to stay inside their homes to prevent spread of the virus. While this is certainly a worthy endavour that EVERYONE should be following, it unfortunately means that we're going to be scrambling for things to do for the next couple of weeks. Now, while Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and other streaming services are no doubt great companions for this kind of situation, to quote Yoda from Empire Strikes Back.....there is another.

Detective Renee Montoya hardly has it easy in Birds of Prey. Historically speaking the character has always come from a place of adversity. Here we have a female, Latina cop mind you. Traditionally, the police are a male dominated career group. Add Latina and gay to this, you have a recipe for trouble for Detective Montoya. Already, Latina women make roughly 60 cents for every dollar a white male is paid. Fall back on gender stereotypes and age-old racism, Latina women do not clean up crime, they clean your house, office and or room. What is Montoya looking for?
The Bachelor Franchise Supports Women
There have been many critiques over the years saying that The Bachelor franchise relies heavily on "pitting women against each other to create drama". Although this is true in part, especially from the subtle (and not so subtle) involvement from producers, in times of great pressure under the public eye, The Bachelor franchise has become a showcase of strong women. Air time is given most to women that are confident, respect their own values and beliefs, women that support other women, even while dating the same man! The Bachelor once placed too much emphasis on shy, overly polite, docile women who just wanted to be "chosen" by the lead. Now, the editing of the show serves to display women who speak their mind, women who say "no" to being disrespected, women who act "unlady-like" and this is a reflection of modern society. We once had cast members like Courtney Robertson and Tierra LiCausi who got a lot of screen time being snide to other girls and bashful to their respective Bachelor. As society shifted to talking more and more about feminism about a decade ago, the Bachelor franchise changed with it. From such an odd circumstance of being one of many women to date one man, beautiful, strong characters were brought forth. Whether or not I, or the rest of the audience agreed with their values, beliefs or found them likable, these women held true to who they are even whilst under public scrutiny of their every word, tone, move and expression. This list includes 8 women who showed true strength and power during their time in the franchise (although there are many more!).
My Review of "Awakenings"
Awakenings came out back in 1990. It's based on a true story that talks about a lot of deep things. I remember seeing the trailers for this movie when it first came out and never thought of watching it. Today as we're going through this global pandemic I needed something uplifting to watch. So I decided to give it a try.
Brian AnonymousPublished 4 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "Titanic"
I barely remember watching this movie. I think I first saw Titanic because at the time it was really hyped up. Now that I have a lot of time on my hands I thought it would be a good idea to see if this movie passes the test of time.
Brian AnonymousPublished 4 years ago in GeeksWe hardly hear about them
TheI know that you are aware of all the characters here on both the Marvel and DC side of the comic book universe. But what about characters that have not been used in a while? Why have they yet to make an appearance in their respective comics? These are the questions I pose here on this post.
Johann HollarPublished 4 years ago in GeeksBEAUTY OF THE SHORT STORY
First of all, it is necessary to distinguish what is short story, and what makes short stories special compared to other prose genres such as novels, novels or dissections, etc. There is a simple and popular way for readers to have It is easily distinguished: short stories are prose stories of short, neat, concise volume, often only the length of time we enjoy a cup of tea; while novels are difficult to encapsulate in just a few dozen pages.

The life of a guy who used to be an electrician apprentice fell into the abyss of silence due to the torture from dictators who deprived him of the ability to speak up and deprived of his identity. his real because he could not say his real name, in his voice to the old teammates who only know his operating aliases. Time seems to have died on the bodies of two women, a brunette and a blonde, at night they were dragged out of the house, after the first shivers, and deep in their bodies. blood sheaths, "rock punches", "boot marks" and even "electrical picana marks" an unyielding unwavering will that implicitly won the victory: "They didn't subdue you.". There are many more people in this book that have buried their own wars, in small or vast lands, at completely different times. They have voiced their love for peace and justice in their own lives, the price to pay is sometimes death, and scarier than death is nameless and forgotten. People only remember the names of the countless battles that took place while the names of those who have been trampled by evil gradually fade away as if they never existed in the world. Is our memory complicity with a crime? Joseph Goebbels - one of those who advocated the extermination of Jews during World War II (is it a crime to remember the names of those who oppose humanity instead of the names of the victims?) - asserts: A death is a scandal, thousands of deaths are a statistic.
