Culture SlatePublished 4 years ago in Geeks'General Hospital' Sonny in the aftermath of Mike's death
Once Mike Corbin passes away on General Hospital, there is a lot the writers could do with his grieving son. Carly and the family could and should rally around Sonny and give him all the support he needs. This probably would not be dramatic enough to keep fans engaged, and might be why several other storylines seem to be crashing down on the Corinthos family. Maurice Bernard who portrays Sonny has shared often that he has Bipolar disorder, just like his character. His wife Paula has even said that the actor threatened to kill her once when he was off his meds. Both Maurice and his beloved GH character are taking lithium for the condition and the writers could have art to imitate life.
Cheryl E PrestonPublished 4 years ago in GeeksMovie Review: 'Mulan' Feels Alive and Vital in Live Action Adaptation
Mulan 2020 is a handsome production, an epic of classic Disney imagination. Directed by the outstanding Niki Caro (Whale Rider), the story feels vital and alive and the production design is spectacular. Whether or not you’ve seen and loved the animated Mulan of the 1990’s I can imagine you falling head over heels for this splendid family adventure that empowers not only women but children in general to follow their hearts and engage in imaginative, heroic, adventure.
Sean PatrickPublished 4 years ago in Geeks'General Hospital' teen love triangle will bring heartache
The teenagers on General Hospital are about to have some drama in their lives and not everyone is going to come out unscathed. The writers have taken a long time to pair any of them up with each other and no one seems to know who it is they truly love. Trina and Josslyn both kissed Dev who said he was not into them that way. he went on to tell Joss that he did not want to do anything to jeopardize his relationship with her family. Trina and Cameron kissed after their ordeal with the men Cyrus sent to kidnap them and they are not sure what it meant. They could simply have bonded over almost losing their lives, or perhaps there really are some feelings between them.
Cheryl E PrestonPublished 4 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "The Naked Gun: From The Files of Police Squad!"
The Naked Gun: From The Files of Police Squad! came out back in 1988 so I could already imagine all of the things in the movie that might trigger people. Triggers aside, this is actually a really funny movie. I forgot that they made movies like this and this could very well have been a starting point for some of the comedies that came out in the 90's.
Brian AnonymousPublished 4 years ago in Geeks'The Bold and the Beautiful' Dollar Bill and Shauna play the waiting game
Some fans of The Bold and Beautiful thought that when Ridge referred to Shauna as his wife and took her upstairs that they would immediately hit the sheets. Instead, the new Mrs. Forrester is trying to wine and dine and woo her new spouse, all the while hoping he will fall in love with her. Meanwhile, Dollar Bill allowed himself to be manipulated by Quinn and is waiting for Brooke to fall into arms. Both Shauna and Bill could be waiting a lot longer than they intend to. Because of COVID restrictions, the soaps are in no hurry to show passionate love scenes and keeping couples at arm's length. There is also the fact that both Ridge and Brooke have admitted they are not interested in moving on, at least not yet.

I still remember it, I spent the whole summer of 1994 babysitting my neighbor's four kids, and do you know what their favorite VHS tape was? You guessed it, or maybe the title gave it away, The Sandlot! Remember? That movie set in 1962 about a boy dubbed "Smalls" as in "you're killing me Smalls!" who moved to a new neighborhood and happens upon a group of boys about his age that are obsessed with baseball. They teach him to play, get into some trouble along the way and get themselves into the biggest pickle that any young kid could imagine. What's more is that the movie was actually filmed in my home state! Ogden, Midvale and Salt Lake City, Utah are my stomping grounds. Of course I didn't find this out until high school, but you know my movie loving girlfriends and I absolutely HAD to go and swim at Lauren Farr Pool in Ogden the second that we found out that that was the pool that appeared in the film. I think that may have been one of my favorite scenes when Squints fakes drowning at the pool and the life guard, Wendy Peffercorn, that he is in love with jumps in, saves him, and gives him mouth to mouth. When he wraps his arms around her and tries to give her a big old kiss, she smacks him and stomps off.

Tik Tok is a platform where you can find comedy sketches, commentary, and the latest cool kid dances. But there's something else the platform is now famous for- and that is getting dragged.
Cassandra LawrencePublished 4 years ago in GeeksAaron D Spears back on contract on The Bold and the Beautiful
Celebrating the Soaps has revealed that popular actor Aaron D Spears is back on contract once again on The Bold and the Beautiful. This talented fan favorite has been on and off contract so many times in recent years it will make your head spin. When asked about his status last year, Spears said it's not his show, so he works when asked. Fans had been wondering why he was brought back in 2019 only to not have a meaningful storyline. Brad Bell, the executive producer of The Bold and the Beautiful seems to have a problem keeping popular characters on the screen.
Cheryl E PrestonPublished 4 years ago in GeeksI'm Divorcing J.K. Rowling, and I'm Keeping The Kids
This is a subject; I’ve wanted to take my time, to marinate over, to think very hard and do some soul searching before jumping into my thoughts and sharing them. The reason being, it is very easy for me, to want to get angry, emotional, without getting anything productive accomplished. When people are angry, start to yell, nothing happens. It’s just more arguing. However, when time has been taken to think things through, keep the passion, but lose any antagonized feelings, the important matters at hand can be discussed. That’s what I want to express right off the bat, with this essay, despite what my essay title might indicate. I don’t wish any harm, or ill will toward anyone, not towards Rowling, not towards anyone who shares her beliefs, as much as I disagree with them. What I WILL do is say what I know are inaccurate statements made by Rowling and those she supports, both from studies and personal experiences. What I can hope to accomplish is simply to educate those in the dark on what has been said, and maybe help those who share gender critical views, see the whole picture, and perhaps make the effort to look at this issue another way, rather than with anger or insults.
Coco Jenae`Published 4 years ago in GeeksA Filmmaker's Guide to: "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968)
In this chapter of ‘the filmmaker’s guide’ we are going to explore some of the films that have changed our outlook of the possibilities in cinema in some way, shape or form. These can include, but are not limited to: revolutionary cinematography, narratives that challenge the social structure and the common view, trademark styles of auter cinema, brilliant adaptations of novels and other works, films of philosophical value and films that touch our hearts and souls with their incredible underlying messages and morals. Within each of the films in this chapter there is a certain something that makes them special and a certain something that makes them linger long after we have watched them for the first time. Lasting impressions are difficult to create, but I think that the films we will briefly touch on in this chapter are some of the films we will never ever forget.
