Video game bosses are usually depicted as bigger, meaner, and stronger versions of video game mooks. While they are made to look more scary, there are some that are so disturbing, it's nightmare inducing. However, when you've been a gamer for a long time, some bosses loss their disturbing factor and become interesting to observe.

Without further ado, here are some bosses that while are disturbing, after awhile they become more peculiar. The big question is here is who in their perverse mind developed such things!?

NOTE: An asterisk indicate games the author himself has personally played.

1. Pyramid Head - Silent Hill 2.*

Source: Konami

This guy could honestly make the Tyrant from Resident Evil look like nothing. Pyramid Head is just a product of nightmares. Imagine if he stepped on a land mine? Or what if he got busted by a rocket launcher?

2. Beelzebub - Castlevania Symphony of the Night.*

Source: Konami

This one is understandable. After all, Beelzebub is the Lord of the Flies. But look at him! He's literally a rotting corpse! The only way to defeat Beelzebub is to hack off his limbs! And yes, his image was used as the main image of this article.

3. Legion - Castlevania Curse of Darkness.*

Source: Konami

Just look at this thing! It's a massive ball of corpses! Plus, the screams it makes when struck don't help matters either. As for the core itself, its truly disturbing in itself!

4. Dynamis - Silhouette Mirage.*

Source: Treasure

Just who in their right mind came up with this?! A flying fish with a dolls head?! Seriously?! WHO'S RESPONSBLE!?!! It is just wrong on many levels. One has to ponder what the developers at Treasure were smoking. Plus, the music for this fight doesn't fit exactly the scene...NEXT!

5. Dr. William Birkin - Resident Evil 2*

Source: Capcom

Ah, much better! Throughout the entirety of this game, William Birkin transformation becomes more grotesque. His theme song doesn't make any better considering it only makes William Birkin more frightening.

6. The Mighty Poo - Conker's Bad Furday.

Just...nasty...gross...wrong...disgusting...perverted...horrible...disturbing...

7. Andross - Star Fox 64*

Source: Nintendo

Even though it's science fiction, Star Fox had quite a disturbing boss in the way of Andross. Composed of a massive head and hands, one has to ponder what became of the rest of his body?

8. Matt Helms - No More Heroes 2

Source: Grasshopper Manufacture

His expression is just disturbingly wrong on so many levels. Its like the Stay Puft Marshmellow Man became a pyromaniac! Plus, his second form is just...words fail me.

9. Vortex Queen - Ecco The Dolphin.

Source: Sega

Imagine playing a video game about a dolphin and the final boss looks like a cross between Alien and Cthulhu. At least Vortex Queen didn't spit acid or else there would haven a lawsuit!

10. Karl Heisenberg - Resident Evil Village.

Source: Capcom

A man with an impressive aura of magnetism. Heisenberg really does know how to freak out players. Not to mention being a confident, arrogant man with a rebellious streak.

11. Psycho Mantis - Metal Gear Solid.*

Source: Konami

Watch out for this gas mask wearing freak. He can read not just minds, but your memory card as well! Time to switch ports then!

12. Pandora - Revelations: Persona.

Source: Altus

A grotesque nightmare. Perhaps one of the most disturbing RPG bosses of all time. Pandora's second form...eh...

13. Zero Two - Kirby 64.

Source: Nintendo

A red eyeball with wings. Some say its scary. I say its just an eyeball. Where is some eye drops for this thing!?

Loved Heisenberg. Would say anything from Dead Space series is a disturbing ride. The more you think about it the more horrific it is to be turned into any type of necromorph.
